I’m putting the dispute pony back in the stable, both Lee and Alva got back to me this morning. It appears a driver and plate will be in the post some time soon. Looking hopeful. Hope everyone else gets sorted and we get the light we thought we were buying when this all first started.
To the fella above looking at buying a light, I say hang on too perhaps, but the light is nice - make no mistake about it. Having something that can run for such extraordinary long times on the two low modes makes it a real asset.
Now I have to look at replacing the driver and plates. Anyone got a guide to doing so, and what will I need to buy in the way of soldering gear and so on?
Hey Hook, I’ve got 3 of those sitting here brand new in the box, Oh, wait your in France… I think shipping costs from the West Coast of the U.S. to France would sort of be expensive and more than the unit costs for sure.
As far as buying the MT03 Jerommel, I am only referring really to what we received,
I’ve looked at GearBests MT03 and can see I think that it’s a 2S2P and it is what Lee had explained about being the newer version, dual O rings on the tail cap and a longer battery tube body, so for the $90 I’d take back what I said and say give it a go, let us know how it turns out though.
Edit: This is the new MT03 for sure, with also the better silicon switch so it’s not mushy feeling but they still have those black battery selection limiters on the positive contacts, they come off easy enough, different springs also, that’s good I think, at least they won’t put dents in the bottom of your cells like the ones I have here, ha ha, never seen springs that stiff.
Good for you Jerommel, hope you know I was only saying not to buy one of the ones we got and none of us have seem any of the new ones.
But I did get a message from a guy that just bought one from BG and he’s happy as can be,
I know of some of the changes they made in the newer additions per message with manufacturer like changing that mushy silicone switch boot and making the battery tube about 2mm longer, all really important stuff really, you’ll be happy I believe, we were just the ones to get the first of the first lights, with all the problems and 4S with a non 4S driver apparently… Good luck and enjoy your new light.
Hopefully they fixed the threads. Unfortunately it looks like they took folks here literally when we called for square cut threads. True square threads are difficult to do, and ACME or Whitworth would have been plenty good and much easier to cut.
Well patience and faith bad paid off in spades, got my replacement lights which was sort of mixed up but no matter to me at all.
These MT03’s are everything you dreamed of and much more, much more, just spectacular through and through, beautiful craftsmanship.
Compared to what we got originally, it’s night and day and then some…! Wow,
I thought maybe someone might ask to see a pic or two so I decided to skip taking any pics for you bums…. Ya right… ha ha ha
What I didn’t have time to do is edit so I’m just going to embed them and you can take a look, keep in mind it’s fairly easy to guess what was most important to me and I’m not the greatest photographer, mainly threads and that battery tube, and the switch and if it worked,
Well so I am actually speechless, and for anyone who knows me and that I will and can literally write the posts from hell, length wise, well that’s saying something.
If I am short to the point and sort of quit, well something shocked me and well, these darn lights are really just stunning and I really didn’t think that Haike had it in them, but boy was I wrong, completely different lights.
I honestly didn’t think they’d come through at all with these replacements, that’s back of the mind of stuff, but I am so glad now that I stayed calm and I held back on that dispute stuff and just struggled patiently watching the 180 day countdown slowly tick by and it was all worth every second,
Someone asked about threads, well think no longer they are up there with some of the best I’ve seen in sometime, and I’ve got some comparison pics here of the old and new.
A downside since I stupidly broke my lux and clamp meter, I was trying to think of how to compare so I pulled out my M43 with nichias about 7Klm and this Haike with the UI and taking into consideration they are two different sorts of lights, this Haike I think is at the moment currently at the top of my heap and I have a heap of lights, believe that, I am just stunned.
If you click on the pics you’ll end up in my storage and there they are big big pics… ha ha, hope this works… See ya.
By the way I just noticed that due to size the pics if you link into my storage some pics show up black, like in no pic, but click on it and it will open, they are I think 3MB size or so.
Yes thank you very much, it is a massive relief, but I sure do wish we all had gotten our lights all on the same day, then it would be really great, but now, well….
I’m sitting here actually feeling sort of lousy now that the excitement and happiness has toned down a bit, but having my lights and knowing how you all are feeling, well it really bugs me so I really tried to be cool with comments on the lights, but if it helps, it is worth the wait, and I am hyper critical and relentless if I am screwed around, so Haike did not have a pleasant time with me, at all…
Most important thing for everyone to keep track of is that time limit from PayPal on the dispute,
If you screw that up you are royally screwed, so make sure you know a week in advance or more, two weeks from when that last day is, and I personally wouldn’t wait any where near that long.
My opinion now for what it is worth is that I do not believe anyone will get screwed here, and Haike will come through, but they are really seriously back asswards in how they will say one thing and do another, or not at all, or not on time like promised, so it is messed up dealing with them, and I truly feel for you all. Seriously sad about this Crap…!!
2 weeks by the way was about my average message turn around reply time through Haike’s PM here, so really that’s not so odd. I hope that helps any… I know, it doesn’t…
Well there you go Gerrit, great news pal…!
Hey maybe now that I have my lights and I am officially off of Haike’s back, they can now fully focus on getting all the other lights and parts shipped without a constant worrying that I am about to jump out of the bushes in Hong Kong and bite off a piece of their Haike.
And Nic your right about a review, this light needs a completely new review, this is not even the light originally reviewed for the most part, and it’s nothing like what we all got in the GB, not even close, if those first lights had been half as good as these replacements I might not have even pitched a bitch, night and day, a lot of difference.
