I’ve read countless threads and posts on these two.
Price is currently the same $25 (hd2010 is actually 27 cents cheaper than the FT ZY-T08 right now)
It seems a rather even match. Can anyone persuade me one way or the other?
You can get the T08 from Wall Buys for $18 if you can wait 3 hours and can actually catch it.
I order a T08 from WB when it was on sale for $20 a few weeks ago. It should be here this week hopefully. I don’t have an HD2010 so I can’t compare the two. I heard the HD2010 throws a little better than the T08. Plus the HD2010 can use an 18650 or 26650. The T08 takes 2 18650’s so that is another difference.
I don’t use T08 much because it’s a bit big for my hand and it’s hefty. On the other hand I think you can easily mod it for a brighter light.
Thinking about trying to hoursec kill. Do I sit on the hoursec product page and hit kill when the timer runs out? Do I automatically get it then (assuming I clicked fast enough), or is it the first couple who pay first?
I own both lights and like them both. In stock form my HD 2010 did out throw the Small Sun by a bit. Either light can be modded to be throw monsters up to or exceeding 200kcd. Tom did my ZY-t08 an it is at 208kcd now. Very bright. For now my HD 2010 is stock and throws about 50kcd.

I’ve never actually tried to buy anything during the hoursec kill. I think you just wait until the time is up and the sale begins. You should be able to click instakill and then pay for it. I would make an account and have everything ready just incase so you have a better chance if you decide you want it. I am guessing it is who every clicks the instakill gets it, but I am not sure, you might have to pay for it after clicking the button. And if you don’t you won’t get it? Like I said, I’ve never done it and I tried searching and couldn’t find anything on it. This is what is at the top.

Also, if you do get the T08 I heard you can add a 220 resistor to up the amps to ~3 and that will bring the output up about 300 lumens I think to 900 or so. You can also de-dome it to brink the KCD up for more throw, but it lowers the lumens by a certain percentage.
I got a few of both! I like the looks/feel of the HD2010 better, but the 2 cells is nice in the T08. Stock, if you get a hot HD2010 it's great, the stock T08 is well under-driven.

$24.68 after the $6 off a $30+ order. This particular HD 2010 was recently acquired by Ouchyfoot and confirmed to have the good driver (YMMV).
Well there’s a verification code after you click instant kill. I was not prepared for that. 
There was about a 2 second window to click, enter the code, and submit.
That sucks. I figured they would go fast. I watched a video on the VIP kill and they showed a code that popped up below the box and they copied and pasted it. Then they had to enter a verification code and the code they entered previously. Well at least now you and I both know how it works now lol. I saw someone ask how it worked and no one clarified.

Extremely tough dropping $25 on a single light. Really hope it has the good driver.
… no more flashlight purchases for a month!.. a few weeks!.. at least a week, unless something really good comes along.
$23.38 for me after points and coupon. Can’t beat it for the price. Both lights are best buys as far as bang for the buck. Never did a side by side comparison but both throw well. The 08 has the better look, the HD2010 the better build.
I’ve ordered the ZY-T08 from two different vendors and they were both ~3A, ~50klux. I love having twice the battery life as a C8.
