I’m “traditionally” not very lucky, so I’ll probably get one with the EAST-092B again, BUT, I’m being hopeful and “keeping my fingers crossed” this time :)!!
Will definitely post back, but, wish me luck :)???
The one I recieved from tmart seems perfect, very strong, correct driver, clean threads, decent o-rings, even had clean glass. It’s unbranded, all black no lettering at all. I’ve only used it a couple times but, it works well. HD2010 Linky
Who knows if they are shipping good ones mixed in with 92B versions, but I did get a good one recently. Took 4 days to get it… US to US shipping…
Mine says East 92, very easy to see the lettering inside. I haven’t checked mine with a meter yet, but its definitely an East 92. Very good throw with a bit of whine in the lower modes. Medium has the most whine, not loud, but its there if you listen for it. I’m surprised I got a strong one after reading all the threads on the weak ones. Its actually a nice light, paid $27.15 for mine with the TLFLASH code.
Glad this thread popped up as I was wanting to maybe get one of these. But, I have also read there’s alot of manufacturing differences with this light. I’ll be reading the thread.
The quality control is always an issue in general and I was surprised that I actually got a well built HD2010 because I didn’t want to mod it. I chose the black one because it had recent reviews saying it was well driven. The Tmart reviews were actually correct. The next batch may not be. The grey ones are hit and miss on Tmart. I know of at least three people last month who received good black 2010’s from Tmart. So, its probably the best gamble for US buyers right now. Its odd the unbranded version is well built, but it is for a change…
I just received the unbranded gray 2010.
Its a little lighter gray than my older one and the quality is not quite as good.
The hot spot is not quite as clean.
The threads were dry and the brass neg. button in the tailcap was stuck.
The o-ring on the lens is a little too big, it won’t fit in the groove so it’s probably not watertight.
The driver is the East 92 but it’s etched on the backside not printed on the front.
My first 2010 pulls 4.5a with a TF flame 5000.
The new one is 4.2a with the same battery, overall brightness is about the same.
Still it’s a good deal for $28
I’ve seen some really poor unbranded knock offs, my branded lights have been better in quality usually. But, I actually like my unbranded SRK too. You never really know what you’ll get till its in hand sadly. I’ve bought Ultrafire and received a Cree. I don’t really care as long as the light reflects the price paid at least. I can lube my own threads. Its nice when a budget light actually works without tweaking though.
