Headlamp needed with no switch. twist on/off like infinite brightness headlamp by Surefire

Hi all,
I am about to pull the trigger on a Surefire Minimus CR123 infinite brightness headlamp. There has to be other headlamps that don’t have on/off right?

I have had 6 or so headlamps by Zebralight and Spark and all have died or stopped working due to the electronic switches in them. So, no more switches for me.

Surefire is just crazy expensive but I feel like there is nothing else like that or is there?

Thank you,
bigC

Be sure, that any twisty, will fail before clicky lights. Also they chew up orings.

The Rayfall H1LR has a twist switch, and takes 2 x CR123 or 1 x 18650 batteries, and is IPX8 water resistant, with 220 lm max, and a beam range range of 148 m [as quoted by manufacturer].

Here is a link to the H1LR page at the Rayfall site:

Rayfall also make different models with twist switches, that take different battery sizes. Here is a link to the general Rayfall headlamp pages:

Here is a link to the GeaarBest page, one of the places where you can buy the Rayfall H1LR (but shop around, you may find better):

I have no experience with Rayfall, and can’t speak to the quality, or otherwise, of their products. I do very much like the idea of the twist switch, and the price at GeaarBest, UK £16.19 (US $24.61), looks completive.

P.S. The twist switch is not the stepless (“infinite”) kind, it has discrete modes.

Rayfall looks like copying Sparks designs in some of their models.

So, I put my order at BHphotto for the minimus CR123 twisty on/off (infinite brightness via magnet I presume).

So, its technically not a twisty that relies on anodizing like a traditional twisite.

I saw it for $99 when I ordered but as soon as paid the price for those outside of myself wanting one went up to $150ish which seemed odd, but at least I got mine at semi good deal.

My hopes is that I finally get a headlamp that can last for months if not years. I want to wear it camping, working on cars, the house, ect… I don’t want a headlamp that if wet or gets dinged by we wearing it the switch will fry (which I have 6 headlamps Zebralight/Sparks that did this already)

best,
bigC

The Twist is the main feature even if its not infinite but still has simple magnets to go via modes.

I definitely will be getting a CR123 based for my wife and kids.

The Rayfall is a good headlamp when it works. If there is a problem it should just go in the trash because there is zero support. Their own words to me are: We are too busy to deal with end-users.

For $25 still worth the gamble.
