Hello everyone, greetings

Firstly, how is everyone doing?

Name is Leo, I’m 40 yrs old and I’m from Brazil and this a little about me.

Been reading BLF for a while now to learn more about flashlights, mind you I’ve always found them to be fascinating, though I was completely ignorant and fell for the 10 billion lumens / 80km beam distance type of flashlights more than I’d like to admit.

Got kind of sick of it, and started watching some videos on YouTube, mostly from Flashaholic, Charles BridgTec, Flashlight Crazy and some others when I couldn’t find a specific review about something.

Skip a few months and some convoys and sofirn purchases to get better introduced with flashlights, I’d like to invest now in something bigger and throwy, I’d love to hear your thoughts and opinions on this, is not stepping out of line, please:

I’d like to get enough feedbacks on which of the following flashlights would be a better investment:

1 Astrolux MF05/Mateminco MT90 plus
2 Acebeam K75
3 Amutorch DM90
4 Astrolux MF04/MM MT35 plus

Or anything else in the same league, the MF05 is at the top because it’s what I’m striving for now. But if is not really a good choice, I’d like for more experienced people to chip in, please.

Lights I currently own;
Convoy c8+ with SST40
Convoy l21b with KW.Culpm1.TG
Sofirn sp36 pro
Sofirn q8 plus
Sofirn LF22a

Those were the first I bought, a few months later now, got these:
Natfire SF2
Trustfire T70
Imalent R60C
Imalent SR32
WildTrail WT90
Nitecore P35i
Haikelite HK08
Mateminco MT001
Acebeam L17
Maxtoch Owleyes w1
Lumintop GT 110
Astrolux WP3

Also added a few smaller ones to my collection
Olight Baton 3
Acebeam Pokelit Aa
Imalent LD10
Imalent LD70

I’m not looking for a specific use, none other than outdoors fun, hunting here is extremely tough, since you can’t get ahold of a weapon without a ton of paperwork before.

So the reason I am looking at the MF05 is mostly for pure entertainment at first, and then something to carry around in my car along with a more practical sized light.

But I’m willing to pick something else if it’s going to be more useful and would prove a good match for the astrolux in terms of beam reach and overall performance. I’m not very good with UIs yet but I’m learning everyday.

E.g if the Lumintop GT 110 is a flashlight that will basically give me the same performance as the MF05, then the next pick would be the Amutorch DM90. Sorry for ranting about this so long now.

Hope you all have a great day and feel free to chime in with any suggestions.

Ps: mind you that I can’t go for those military grade searchlights that are over 1k usd as I can pay as much as 96% of the total amount of the purchase, including shipping.

It’s good to have you here, Leo0801!

I wouldn’t really recommend you the Mf05 because its very expensive. I personally own the amutorch DM90 but my one is beginning to fail. (Emmitter burning itself). K75 is a very good option but its $100 more expensive than the Dm90. Mf04 is also cheap, however its a xhp35 flashlight with only 2500 lumens and similar specifications to the original blfgt. I reccomend the Mf04S which has xhp70.2.

You said the flashlight has no specific use except to have fun. It should be fine to cheap out and go with the Dm90 as the sbt90.2 is a huge upgrade in beam intensity compared to xhp35 at the same price point. If you want sbt90.2 from a big name brand company, go with the K75.

I opted for the Mf05. The reason is that I’d probably end up buying it anyway so I just went for it. But might as well gather some money and buy a k75 in the near future, might see some more use too, is just that the Mf05 is too impressive. The AMU dm90 is also a very cool and great light from some YouTube reviews I watched, but it’s sold out everywhere, except from Alibaba.

Thank you for the suggestion have a nice day :pray:t3::raised_hands:t3:

Nice, I think you made a good choice in the long run. No real point in choosing the k75 or dm90 because they are extremely similar and mf05 is superior. Unless you want a smaller massive thrower.

Hello Leo0801, welcome to BLF. My personal opinion is that (when asked) it is not easy to give people advice about which flashlights they should buy. A common question would be: for what will you use that light. Which is not a very useful question in your case. You are way past that point.

Maybe in your case a question like: what feeling are you pursuing whould be a more appropriate question. When I look over my shoulder, I see a lot of lights. Most of them I bought intentionally, and I would not want to miss any of them. There are also a few lights where I could ask myself: what were you thinking? The majority of those lights I cannot give to family and friends because they are not safe enough (that is: muggle-proof). Like all kinds of IR and UV lights I assembled myself, that for friends and family are “useless” 99% of the time.
I own a few wow-lights, but when push comes to shove I must admit most of them are much to heavy to schlep around on a trekking tour. So quite wow, but not very handy. I see you have a certain weakness for big throwers. But if you are looking for a thrower that is not breaking your back, it could be useful to peruse this website: https://1lumen.com/best-flashlights/

Welcome to BLF Leo801!

The MF05 is one heck of a flashlight!!! Let us know how you like it.

Hello yall. How are you all doing today?

I ended up buying the Mateminco MT90 plus. (MF05). This is one hell of a light indeed. Heavier than anything I’ve ever handled before.

It came with one issue though, the handle battery is a flat top 21700, so it’s kinda stuck in there, it came with 10 batteries, figured it’s because one is stuck in the fandle. Apparently it was supposed to go with a 18650 in there, which taking look it would fit a bit loosely.

Have been watching some reviews on YouTube, mostly from Cheule’s, Marco, Flashaholic and SRD lights. Oh man I wish I had the money to get all these torches.

I tested the Mt90p only around the house up the balcony. It goes really really far but the city lights kinda gets in the way of it, too much visual pollution.

How do you like the hk08? I just ordered one and eagerly awaiting it lol

It’s one heck of a wall of light, it produces just about the amount of lumens it claims. But there is no active cooling system, I found the battery life to be very good as well, as long you don’t use turbo for long periods of time, it should be fine. I liked very much, is not too big either. Enjoy your purchase!

It was one of my more expensive individual splurges but at $60 off I couldn’t resist such luminous power. Of course this also led me to get some convoy spacers to use flat top molicels, esp when the p50’s become available
