Hello from Malaysia!

Hi, I am Kurt and I am from Malaysia. I have quite a few flashlights and headlamps but I use mainly my Mi Nextool (at 560lm) or Fenix FD41 (at 350lm) for wildlife (specifically snakes!) searching in the jungle at night. I like them but I am looking for something better. I am not sure if i like really tight beam. I think I like it with a little (but not too much) spill.

It’s a pleasure to have you onboard, Kurt!
If you want a lot of throw with some usable spill, I suggest the SFT40 emitter.
If you want less throw and more flood, I prefer the SFT70 emitter, but that emitter is probably best in a larger head diameter flashlight (for example, my flashlight has a 45mm diameter head and the SFT70 works well in it.)

Thank you! I was just reading the thread about Convoy Z1. I bought a Sofirn SC33 and was disappointed that the SC33’s 750lm is dimmer than the Mi Nextool’s 560lm or the FD41’s 350lm. Besides comparing them side by side, is there any other way to find out?

You might be able to find reviews online where the reviewers measure the output.

Hello @Kurt ,Welcome 'kawan dari negeri jiran’:pray:t4:
Since you’re specifically looking for snakes; i highly suggest get some flashlight with Hi CRI, balanced beam profile and good runtime.
Lots of option from CONVOY; s21a/b,s11,M21h with buck or boost driver and Hi CRI leds; Nichia, GT-FC, xhp70.3 hi/50.3 hi Hi CRI etc., WURKKOS TS26S Nichia 519a 5000k, FC11c and many more.
They will give you more enjoyable viewing of the wildlife, since Hi CRI brings more natural color rendition of the environment.
And i think it would help you differenciate between snakes and sticks alot better.
