Not new to working with leds but am new to flashlight modding. I’ve modded leds in truck extire interiors. factory button led color swaps and stuff. the rest has been led vehicle installs. flashlight will be a first for me. looking to learn and be freindly.

Welcome! I enjoy modding. If you’re new to it I’d suggest something like a Convoy S2+ to start with. Grab a complete light (many options to choose from), maybe an 18350 tube/battery as well, and a couple different emitters already on 16mm MCPCBs. Get some 20mm TIRs too. That will give you a lot to play around with and all you need is a soldering iron (guessing you have one based in what you said).
