Wow I usually am impressed with Thorfire lights, but this light looks like many others mass produced and sold on ebay and amazon under a variety of names.
I am really surprised that Thorfire would want to be associated with these lights more commonly sold as Boruit brand.
Yeah, but there will be some QD work done, or what? Is this made by anonimous (sub)contractors?
Top shelf gets a Thorfire name slapped on. Second shelf Boruit. And the rest will be known as Cree?
Puzzled — the first link http://amzn.to/2cftvfm (link is external) in the OP goes to a 3-reflector Boruit headlamp “currently unavailable”
(Which, actually, would be tempting to try out if it will fit over a bike helmet! though I’d be surprised if I could use it that way, it’d be fun to try combinations of flood and spot, maybe moving the battery pack with an extension cord to get it off the head)
That doesn’t look like the familiar Boruit people mentioned and pictured by Serp above here in the comments — I have one of those, it’s a decent headlamp, variable brightness, motion sensor, and there are a couple of threads about how to take it apart and improve it active.
The second link in the OP just redirects to nothing for me.
Email sent, with details regarding an upcoming real-world testing scenario I will be facing in the near future, which could prove to be a valuable test of this light’s value… :sunglasses:
EDIT — but I just inquired in the thread, made no effort to email or pm them to push for a review sample.
Figured if they wanted my review, they know how to find me.
And I’m working on being known as notoriously not-five-stars-critical and likely to make suggestions for improvement (grin).
That thins out the offers nicely.
