Help a noob with flashing drivers.

I’m pretty confident in my build and mechanical abilities. I’ve built and modified many lights. I’ve never flashed a driver though. I just bought an android tablet for this because the pc route was way over my head. I have ZFflasher AVR installed and tried to use it last night to install Bistro on a MTN17ddm driver. Nothing but failure prompts. I suspect it’s me downloading the wrong file or type. I want Bistro, guppyV1 and guppyV3 downloaded to use. Can anyone help me make sure I get the correct files? There’s a few different file on GitHub and not sure which ones to get. Talk to me like I’m 5 :joy: I have a CH341 programmer with a SOP8 clip.

Sorry if I left anyone out, I’m sure there’s tons of members who are familiar with this sort of thing…

CH341/CH340 can be used for programming recent Attiny/AVR (0/1/2 series, Dx series) that use UPDI, but the Attiny13A in the MTN17ddm uses SPI, for that you need an USBasp.

The chip says tiny 25? The clip does attach to a usb.

This what I bought if that helps.

ON MTN the pictures showed a 13A, but same thing anyway for 13A/25/85, they use SPI and can’t be programmed with a CH340/341.

The 24/25 they’re talking about on that ebay page is somthing else, some bios chip, not Attiny/AVR.

Thank you. Can you recommend a compatible tool I can use? I’d like to do other drivers too like on my FW lights.

Is this correct? And I could use my clip from the first kit I bought linked above…

Thanks once again. I ordered two. More waiting. Again

Ok well while i wait can someone point out the correct file to download for Bistro?

Here is where im looking.

.hex is the compiled firmware extension.

Do your drivers have an OTC(Off Time Capacitor)?

I’m not sure. I’ll have to look for those.

bistro.hex found and downloaded.
Now, Where can I find the Guppy UI hex files? Google search and forum search is no help.

I believe it was by dr. Jones. Try looking up lucidrv and see if another repository shows up.
**maybe JonnyC as well

Thanks. Ive tried that but no guppydrv

I don’t think guppydrv is open source

Look accurate to those who know?
Made these for myself but if they are good they may help others.

Checking against the ATtiny25 datasheet, this looks correct (as long as the SOIC clip is installed the right way round).

Non-complaining sidenote, I’ve never seen “GRD” used to abbreviate ground :stuck_out_tongue:
