Help me replace my Kindle Fire 7"

My Fire 7” has seen better days, and my eyes are getting worse…lol

Looking to replace it with a Kindle Fire HD 8.9”. They seem to be about $150 and up used on ebay. I would use it mainly for email, surfing the web, reading, bible, checking BLF…ebay etc. I currently have a prime membership, and want to definitely continue using it. I also want to make sure I don’t have a bunch of promo/advertisement junk that I have to remove (some of the ebay ads seem to imply that this is the way they come).

I want to keep it around 8.9/9” screen. Is there a better deal out there? What do you recommend?

Are you hooked on the fire? The Google Nexus is good. You can get the 2012 or the 2013. For $196 you can get the 2012 new with 32 gb memory LTE and unlocked on amazon prime, still use your amazon prime account and if you later choose to get something else you can still use it as a very nice turn by turn gps navigation. My two cents. Next month google will announce a new Nexus 8 that should have an 8.9” screen and be better on paper than the Apple iPad mini. Bigger screen for weary eyes.

What version of Kindle fire do you have?

I know you can root it and flash it with custom rom, turn it into a full tablet not just an e-reader or whatever
