Help picking out a compact zoomable, can't find review for this one.

Would anybody be able to tell me something about this light or point to a review?
Or something better that’s zoomable, 18650, compact. Actually would like to make a pocket rocket as E has done to couple of UF-2100, here on BLF for the group buy… Once I figure out what it takes.

I think of it being a 18650 EDC.

I haven’t seen anybody on here brag about one of them…

zoomies aren’t all that popular here, except with a few of us :slight_smile:

since I don’t like the batteries or charger included with the light you linked, and since it hasn’t been reviewed, I recommend going w/ this

I have ordered one of those, already, I think one that uses a 14500 or AA.
Do you know if there is difference in runtime, size and brightness.
Because this one is 18650.

well, they’ll often vary from sample to sample - even if you order two of those, they might draw different current from the battery.

if all else were equal, you’d obviously get much more runtime w/ 18650 - but your aa/14500 will probably use a circuit that draws less power. they also use a different emitter than the one I linked - you’ll find them very different, as far as the beam goes - the xm-l in the 18650 won’t throw any more than the XR-E in the 14500/AA but when in flood mode there will be a LOTTTT more light.

I find the 18650 size is ok for EDC most of the year, but in the summer (ie shorts n t-shirt) then I’d reach for the sk68 (14500)
