Seems like you did your homework correct, those are the correct spacers.
They are needed to prevent a short created by the reflector touching the positive and negative LED wire.
I was tempted to just shoot an email to the owner but I knew I’d get an answer quick here so I could maybe order tonight. Plus I broke the ice on a very interesting forum.
Thanks and that’s good to know about the spacers. I wasn’t sure and didn’t want to chance it. I may still order them to have extra.
I had planned to finish my order last night but then I got stumped trying to decide which driver I want. Richard recommended that if I wanted more power to try the straight up fet driver which seems like a great idea then… I noticed the fet + 7135. I see you used this one. I understand the 7135 for lower modes is regulated unlike the fet driver that appears capable of same low modes just unregulated.
Other than the regulation which would be better? I would mainly use the lower modes and the high for short thrills on occasion. I think the Fet driver on lower modes will get dimmer as battery drops.
Which one is more efficient with the power on low to medium modes? I would assume that both are same amps on high mode since that would be the fets handling the power?
My main thing is, I’m liking the modes on my current C8 8 *7135. I want to keep that just have a boost on high mode. Me changing the led from xm-l2 to a XP-L hi would probably suffice but why not go all the way now. It allows me to use the spare stock driver in the S2+ build.
