Hi all,

From the Netherlands, Europe.
Bought me a bunch of flashlights the past year.
A lot to know and learn, maybe share, etc…
I could “shed some light” on some stuff too :stuck_out_tongue:

Currently my favourite flashlight is a “S2” a.k.a. “Ultrafire S5”, modded with an XP-G2 and TIR optics.
It all started with a 1x AA / 14500 XP-E Q5 zoomer… Still a nice pocket torch. (upgraded with XP-G2)
Got 2 C8’s and many tiny flashlights (also AAA)

Looking for a thrower with deep reflector now. (deeper than a C10, which isn’t so much deeper than a C8 reflector)
Length / hight should be at least the same as the diameter.
Not many candidates around…

If you’re looking for throwers, you may look into the Supbeam K40, an excellent thrower for the price ($80 shipped) and is one of the best throwers when modded, which is very easy too. Here’s some more info: Supbeam K40 Mod thread

I have a tight budget…
I haven’t yet spent more than $10.— on a flashlight.
That’s with free shipping… :stuck_out_tongue:
I mean, I can upgrade / modify (or wreck…) them myself.
That’s the hobby for me.

Haha, in that case, the Jacob A60 is an impressive thrower due to its large reflector and small LED.

I just ordered that Trustfire 168A I linked to earlier.
Well over $ 10.— though… :zipper_mouth_face:

I ordered an XM-L2 with it too, but indeed, a smaller emitter will probably work better, per Watt…

We’ll see…

Yes I have…
I buy the cheap torches. I like to mod them.
Some I don’t even test before disassembling.
But I don’t think I’m as fanatical as many here seem to be. :smiley:
And, of course, I now have a lot to re-assemble… :stuck_out_tongue:
