Hi All,

Well just like all my hobbies/Obsessions…. Guitars, Guns, Watches, Pens, RC Cars the list goes on. I started researching Flashlights which i have always likes but started realizing I can mod them etc. I was on Fastech’s site and now want to build my own high powered tactical style flashlight. I just bought this to play with

UltraFire 503B Cree XM-L T6
and like i said started seeing that you can tweak these type of lights. I am just now trying to figure out what would be a good way to start. I certainly will be souring this forum.

Yes, scouring the forum is a good albeith rather time-consuming start :-) . Also check flashlightwiki.com for a lot of basic knowledge on flashlights.

For a nice first build, I would recommend the Convoy m1. You can buy the host and all the parts you need at mtnelectronics.com, which is run by a BLF member.

Welcome! I'm on L.I. If you are nearby and want to see how's it's done, you are welcome to stop by. Looks like that 503B is moddable, though I don't have experience with one. I got lots of spare hosts and parts right now though. Richard (RMM) at http://mtnelectronics.com is a great US source, and FastTech is pretty good, though you gotta be a little careful in what you order... There's lots more of course Smile.

I’m assuming that the 503B is P60 host? If so, he could also try different P60 drop-ins :)…

I bought the flashlight on a whim. I was ordering 18650 Batteries from Deal Extreme for my wife’s Ecig Mod and put it in my cart. I had my eye on it for a while for less then $10 shipped i thought i would check it out. But then the damn internet happened and I fell down a rabbit hole of Modding Flashlights. I certainly have no problem buying some Mod Platforms already have my eye on this. Convoy M1
