I went to the gunshop that sells these yesterday. They were out of the 9MM which is what I wanted. A guy I used to work with came in. We got to talking. He told me he had one like new with about 50 rounds through the gun. Plus he had 2 extra 10 round $20 clips. Sold it to me for $169 which is what the dealer was selling the new gun for with just one 8 round clip. These guns are siad to have a unconditional lifetime warranty. Guys I work with swear buy them. One guy has 3 of them and no issues whatsoever. He said I recommend them for the money. I wanted one for home protection to go with my other shotguns for added protection.
I miss my C9 believe it or not. Heavy, ugly as sin, reliable, feeds anything, and the best warranty in the industry. Seriously, you can call them up and tell them you bought it used and it didn’t come with the additional ring sights (or some other part) and they’ll ship them out to you. And if you do have to send it in for some kind of warranty work, it’ll come back with a fresh magazine.
ILF, you will have guys that say their brothers friends uncle had one explode on him and that they are junk. It’s been my experience that after you loosen up the magazines a bit they will eat anything you put in them. My C9 has roughly 1000 rounds thru it with just a handfull of TFT/FTE. Sure they are ugly as hell, the trigger pull stinks but I’ll tell you it’s every bit as accurate as my Glock 23.
Nice score! I would like to have one of the compact compensated C9s but i don’t think HiPoint makes those any more. I have the 995 carbine and love it. I installed the TS stock which improves the looks a lot. As said, warranty is great. I had a shell go boom out of battery and either due to that or a general flaw, it stopped feeding properly. Sent it in, got it back in great shape with 2 free mags for my inconvenience. No problems since.
Kaboom was due to cheap gun show reload ammo, not the gun’s fault…
It was a bulging case due to the bad reloading. After that happened, i went through the entire bag of ammo and found several that way. I thew several away and used a handgun i have that can handle NATO pressure loads to shoot the rest.
Yep Hi Point makes a great pistol regardless of what the haters will say. The point is that they work just as well as the high dollar guns and are just as accurate for a lot less money. Guys I work with swear buy them. They say you can’t make them jam with good ammo.
And the trigger pull is from what I read just under 4lbs. That’s not bad at all.
Here’s the one I was thinking about buying at the gun shop. And actually it’s the pistol that the guy I bought this Hi Point C9 off of bought prior to me buying his.
Very good buy. Never seen one in person, but looks just fine to me. Looks a little more compact than my S & W Sigma 9mm. When I got that gun a couple years ago I had read a few bad reports and quite a few good reports on it. So i was a little worried at first. But not once I tried it out. For me personally I couldn’t be happier with it.
So like the other guys say, go run a several boxes of ammo though it at the range. If it still working great afterwards, which I’m sure it will, and YOU are still happy with it, then you sir made a great buy. Congrats!
I know someone with a Hi-Point carbine, it’s fun to shoot and it was very inexpensive.
Kinda like the Surefire Vs budget light arguments, yes they are different, but most people’s needs are easily met by something less expensive.
Getting more ammunition might be a little challenging right now. Most sources are back ordered and some stores are limiting purchase quantity. I am hoping things will settle down a bit in a few months.
