High powered 6500K 90cri+ LED in 3535 form factor?

Hi all, I’m trying to build a LM10 quad build, does anyone know of any led with true 6500k and high cri in 3535 form factor (eg, 3.5mm and fits in xpl, 519a etc mcpcb) that exists?

Currently the closest high powered LED i can find is the fireflies FFL505A, which is 6500k and high cri, but in 5050 form factor (5mm), most MCPCBs are only 3535

Then theres the Nichia B35AM, which is also 6500k but in a weird 2 pad format and is 6V, needing a special boost driver, plus no dedicated thermal pads

Then I have also tested the XPL 6500k high cri which supposingly states its 6500k but when tested, its still 5700k only zzzz (KD)

The ones I am currently using now to make a quad is the nichia optisolis 6500k which is able to fit in a 3535 quad mcpcb, abeit having to insulate the whole mcpcb due to ground leaking through the center pads, plus its like 200 lumens per LED max?

Sunlike is also 6500k, but uses the same weird 2 pad format, low output and cannot use 3535 mcpcbs

Anyone knows of any magical LED that exist out there?

Kaidomainn has occasionally SFT-25R 90CRI in stock but not necessarily in 6500K. Sometimes it’s 6500K sometimes 5700K and even 5000K.

Hmm SFT-25R 6500k I have never tried it but will look out for it.. gamble for it?

The issue is that i recently just bought 4x XPLs in 6500k 90 cri from KD, when i compared against my other batch, its 5700k, nowhere near 6500k, in fact there was another reddit post where someone mentioned they bought some from KD as well, tested it to be 5700k (confirming the same result as me)

I bought the other batch from taobao, also supposingly labelled 6500k, using a UV light, the phosphor color is exactly the same..

well what do u need 6500k for?

KD pulls this shit all the time. I’ve had several orders with incorrect CCT or CRI.

He doesn’t have to justify it, he wants 6500K 90CRI LEDs.
And I also would like to have High CRI and/or low DUV 5500Kish LEDs in 3535, too. Like LHP531, just in 3535.

3535 in High CRI you will always be referred to Firefly, but that 5000K is too warm for me.

These are still one of my favorite LEDs! Despite not being that bright and blueish, they are incredible for CRI! And I think they are still the CRI king:

Good luck with your search.

Hmm not sure, just prefer it, been using 5700k as long as i can remember going back to 219c days, ever since I got some optisolis from virence and put it in my sundrop i’ve been sold, it just makes all the rest look very warm and yellow

i think fireflies used to sell a 3535 version of their 6500k high cri emitters, now just no longer sold, if you check jlhawaii’s firefly page, you can see the option is there, but greyed out.. the current best now is still optisolis that will physically fit in 3535 (plus insulation)

Yeah exactly! The tint is just beautiful, its really similar to the B35AM, i like it so much i’ve converted a few of my lights into either optisolis or b35am, it just sad that optisolis are really hard to come by nowadays, the closest are the sunlike, but its slightly greenish compared, nichias are more rosy

Aliexpress still has SunLike for very cheap, the 5700K is more like 6000K+ in practice.

If you’re after extreme CRI, forget about rosy tint. High CCT light at 100CRI is naturally greenish, on the order of 0.003duv. At this CCT, I also find a slight greenish tint more pleasing than a slightly pinkish tint, which blends with blue and washes out colors.

So currently this is the best i can get for now, a mac long head running 4x B35AM on a virence optisolis pad with a convoy 6v 4A boost driver.

Because the B35AM has no thermal pads, I need to run 4 of them in order to not burn them out and yet be bright enough

A vapcell 18350 M11 apparently is not enough to sustain the higher modes so a vapcell K15 18500 with 15A CDR had to be used instead to power the light and itworks flawlessly..

I have an LM10 running quad optisolis now, but its not bright and turns blue at anything higher then 50% output..

Now if only someone made a 3535 6500k high cri LED.. with thermal pads :frowning:

4 Thanks

Actually I just realized that when testing the 18350 M11 (purple), it was 2 and half years old and may not be able to output full power? It can work 50% of the time when running 35% but at 100% it just flickers immediately and makes a buzzing noise..

Since the new M11 V2 (yellow) is capable of putting out 10A CDR fully charged, a brand new piece should be able to power a 6V 4A convoy driver at 100% running 4x B35AM for a few seconds? Or is 10A CDR simply not enough?
