How can I dissasemble a Lumintop GT4695?

I always thought Lumintop was one of the better budget brands. Never had a problem with any of mine.

What is the batteries voltage? If it’s below 3 volts the charger won’t start charging. I found this out draining the battery below the lights low voltage cut off. I charged the battery with a magnetic charger until 3.02v and reassembled the light and it starting charging. Sad it would be sent with a low volt battery make you wonder if it’s a B grade or a salvaged reject.

The Ripsshine HF1 I received also had a ‘dead’ battery (46950). It was 0.37 V out of the box despite having a isolator. I was able to successfully recharge it (using the build in charging) though. I think the battery has a protection board that tripped. Maybe their 46950 is different than Lumintops? Otherwise I don’t think it would have been salvagable.

I confirmed that the GT4695 battery I had pictured had no protection.

Mine came at 3.something. I didn’t try charging it outside the light because the light is the only compatible way I have to charge one.

Nice!

What MCU does it have?

No idea, it was a chinesium unknown MCU that was sanded down so you couldn’t tell what it was. The only thing I found that matched the pin profile was the STC15W202S

Oh. My. God… This is my favourite thread of all time.

Lumintop posting for the first time this decade just to tell everyone to not remove the battery, IMMEDIATELY followed by photos of strap wrenches, battery, and flashlight pieces spread out over a workbench…amazing

And that explanation on why the “integrated” battery is better, immediately followed by photos showing the battery is not integrated at all it’s just a regular flashlight with glue…just perfect

AND high quality teardown pictures!?! I can’t even
