How did we do? (FastTech.com)

Sad, isn’t it? When our supply of ultra cheap non-working crap is cut off we complain profusely! Lord help us if we actually have to get out of our chairs and go shopping for something, right in our own home town! :open_mouth:

My 18650's got returned to them and they refunded my money. The rest of the items (3 orders) have arrived faster that any other non us based shop.

All of my last three orders went missing. The tickets are not attended for days. I had put a order to DealExtreme after those three orders and it came long time ago. Am I the only one with this kind of trouble? I have not asked for refund, on the contrary, I paid them extra to resend the order using tracking. It has been ten days since the tracking is saying “information received” aka no real parcel in transit :frowning:

“Maya” responds to the ticket after about 4-5 business days.

What should I do?

Start a PayPal claim if you get no action, I try to give FastTech as much time as possible but don’t leave it too long, you have 45 days.

Change your name to SlowTech.com
Or rather please sort out the messy shipping.

  1. you cannot ship batteries which is something flashlight users want and need
  2. even when shipping packages without batteries choose a shipping company that actually works and is fast, am waiting for a package over 40 days now where normally it would be here in 2-3 weeks, that is 6 weeks waiting quite soon, the customer service is not helpful nor informed either

Your shipping details says up to 30 days for air mail.
Now they write in a ticket reply 60-90 days which sounds more like a land mail.

Moving the limit for tracking from $15 to $20 wasn’t nice either.
But since both packages go the same route or should and do with other sellers there is usually no need for tracking. Unless unregistered air mail means for SlowTech a land mail.

You have ok selection, ok prices but the shipping and worse and worse customer service starts to kill it.

Nope, I have 1 unregistered package from FT and it takes forever to get here for some unknown reason. Unregistered packages can even arrive sooner than registered ones, it’s just about how the shipping company handles it and they go the same route.

Ticket was answered with, takes 60-90 days, if you don’t like waiting next time pay for tracking. Right, then don’t change tracking from $15 to $20 to be free on an order.

Respond takes a day or two.
I’m opening a dispute on Monday or Sunday which is 43-44 days, that gives me a 20 days window to escalate it to a claim. Don’t care of they are cooperative or not on FT, customer service does not seem their priority and if they want to just make you wait longer that’s their choice, not mine.

On eBay I don’t even have to ask for a refund, I notify that it did not arrive and when I get a reply it is a reply with a refund. Or when packages can’t be delivered they apologize and refund.

Sure it’s a loss for the seller, but then, they set the prices to cover these losses and they are in charge of what shipping they offer. If they offer unreliable shipping it is their problem not the customer’s.

Over 30 days on my last order. It shipped before their holidays. A paypal dispute will be entered soon.

Be careful on those Paypal disputes and keep them in your back pocket to use when you really need them, if you use them a few times, especially with the same seller apparently, they will cancel your privledges or something (I was reading about this happening a lot in some other thread somewhere, probably you know more about it than I do). I am now seeing lots of orders from China take more than 30 days, I recently got one right about the 60 day mark. With Fasttech I think they always seem to eventually refund for missing orders anyway, and although it takes them forever, so do the Paypal disputes.

It’s ironic that although Jasmine from FT started this thread that has grown to be huge, Fasttech has all but abandoned not only this thread that was their child, but the entire forum. This seems to be standard procedure however for all the offshore sellers who see these forums as a way to market their product, then get distracted by other ways to make more money, so they just move on.

Fasttech used to spend money up front to ensure happy customers. Now they've changed to unhappy customers and spending more money after the sale. I doubt the latter is making them more profitable, but it's much easier to quantify the expense of the former than the latter, and they probably had an idiot bean counter push them in the direction of the latter.

I would still file after 40 days and before 45, otherwise you could easily be left with nothing but lost money, even if a claim and not a dispute, i’ve found fasttech will respond to you, even if they have no idea what your saying, but i assume “my item did not arrive” would get through even their broken english if you say it before you file and give them a day or two to respond (still being below the 45 day window)

that didn’t happen to my first dispute case for them recently. They left me unresponded at all via PP dispute case. After 60 days mark, I just escalated to claim and got refund decision from PP.

my bad, thats what i meant, start with a dispute and go up to claim if necessary

It is going to be my first dispute, even packages on eBay got lost all one needs to do is tell them it did not arrive and they refund it. But shops are not pushed so much to keep good reputation as are sellers on eBay or other websites that list their goods.

There is a reason many sellers have 39-40 days shipping guarantee and don’t like to ship to countries that are problematic/where packages get lost or stolen (Russia) or postal services are insanely slow (Italy). It is because you have 45 days to open a dispute on Paypal so that gives you a nice buffer of 5 days to resolve it with the seller before opening a dispute and potentially harming their reputation.

My package was ordered 5th January, shipped 6th January, still did not arrive.
This is way beyond their holidays where they stop doing anything. Unlike the rest of the shipping during Chrismas that works, slow, but works and so do shops.

FWIW, I made an order on Jan 4. The total cost was $37.00. Because it contained a knive, it went out via Sweden Post. Tracking shows that Sweden Post just dispatched it from Singapore, and is not in Canada as yet. Chances are it will not be here before the 45 days.

Which carrier has your package? If it is also Sweden Post then there’s the problem, but the package should eventually arrive.

I had placed another order on Jan 9. As it was for a radio and contained a battery, FT did not send via ePacket as requested. It went Singapore Post. It arrived last Thursday.

Because I already filed on PP dispute against FT (and it might have been 2 in the past year), from what I’ve read, if I file another, Paypal might suspend my account. So I’ll probably keep my last remaining chance to file a dispute for when it may involve a larger sum of money, I’m not going to burn my bridges with Paypal for $37.00.

From now on I plan to order batteries and knives together in the same order, knowing they will be very slow. Everything else I will use the upgrade option to ePacket, which so far, without fail, takes just under 10 working days to arrive.

My last 2 orders from Slowtech never even got to me. They have moved from one of the best sellers to one of the very worst.

Fasttech gets an avoid rating in my book.

I’m considering the same, leaving FT for good.
after the last low value non arrival order, I gave another shot for them.
ordered some drivers and springs value about $38.

first they put indication my order will be shipped via SG post (the second slowest shipping to my country after CN Post). I demanded them to switch to HK post and they refused by saying that after li-ion hassle they stop using HK Post.
ok, can’t do much about it.

then, one driver says shipped in 3 biz days. the spring says shipped in 4 biz days.
guess what, order placed and paid in 10 Feb and now (17 Feb) still not shipped.
even my ticket inquiring about it, is still not responded.
very poor service now…

They piss me off too, and I am not a FT Fanboy. So I look at the options, and they keep tempting me back. I have approx 50 orders with them. None have gone missing, one was returned, and then refunded. The longest was just about 60 days, which is annoying.

So today I ordered a Titanium cookware set, here are my options:
1: Fasttech Set
2: Canadian Set

Without doing the math, logic tells me that the labour of waiting up to 60 days for Option #1, as opposed to the instant gratification of choosing Option #2, leaves a lot more money into my pocket than the interest on the best investment strategy I can think of.

Perhaps the campaign that would work in the best interest of us all, would be to encourage them to return to the customer service levels they exhibited in the beginning. I suspect that the windfall from the clamour for all the vaping gear stretched them pretty good. Waiting seven days is not good, but after trying lots of sellers on Ali Express as alternatives, I have to wonder, where is it better?

I would take MECs product, they will have better quality control and likely a lot less lead

Fire Maple makes an outstanding product, they are renowned for their gear, that’s why it’ such a tempting deal. I have spent thousands of dollars at MEC, the QC is nothing special, they pretty much pass on what they get from their suppliers, and their quality has gone steadily downhill over the past decade, they cannot keep up. Just go look at the lights they sell and you’ll see what I mean.

OK, my package arrived. Went to check the mail and they actually fit it inside the mail box.
That is really close for FT to get a dispute:

From and including: Sunday, 5 January 2014
To and including: Monday, 17 February 2014
Result: 44 days

Swiss post- as seen on the package

Issues:
Wrong color of a lighter, I got Honest BC520 black version (that they mark as discontinued) instead of a gray version I ordered. No biggie, I would get the black anyway. So far so good, button could be better and not move to sides as much as it does. Otherwise rock solid with a color of titanium dark gray. The picture for their gray version though is more like silver so go figure. Came with gas to my surprise because I read lighters are shipped empty. I already got a refill before the package arrived.

Then I got the cheapest host:
18650 DIY EDC LED Flashlight Host with Switch, Reflector & Driver Pill
Albeit it is light the quality seem good. And I like it so far. Switch is 20mm board, no problem tailstanding. Reflector is small in height and it will flood. Pill and boot looks the same as Convoy. Thread on the head are nicely to the front unlike on Convoy lights.
Would not be bad for a triple apart from the low weight and small surface area without knurling. The boot is wider as is on other Convoy lights. Body parts are not fully interchangeable with convoy though, the diameter is a little bigger on this one. O-Ring has a recess in the head so it won’t bulge out when tightened something I did not see on any other hosts so far.
Making a bike light from it.
The pill is actually thicker than the one from Convoy S6. It won’t fit into a Convoy. But looks just the same otherwise. Same stupid driver recess that is not deep.

I think the issue is that FT switched away from HK post that otherwise was good and can be fast, even Chinese post can be incredibly fast but it’s a rarity.
SG post was usually slow to Europe.

It is surprising after seeing AliExpress where they give “39 days guarantee” on goods that cost hundreds of dolars.

Yet FT does not mind to reply again:

Ok, then please not 60-90 days on that shipping method. Not write

when it can’t even make it under 40 days.
