I thought I’d give one of my cheap cells a go tonight to check its capacity. I ran it down in a flashlight until it worked no more, put it in the B6AC charger to see it was sitting at 3.28v - both on the B6AC and the fluke multimeter.
I’ve now left it ticking away charging at about 0.5ah letting the charger do the counting.
I had to move the charger a short while ago and it was sitting at 72mins 42 secs and it had charged the battery by 744mAh
It is still charging away and I might have to do it in chunks but when people say a battery has 2500mAh cappacity is that from 4.2v to dead or 4.2v to 3.2v or what?
That’s different some datasheet say to 2.5 V.
But if it should be your personal capacity test than that’s okay how you did.
I test the capacity like most others in decharging with the b6 charger to 3 V than charging it till full. You should do that some times with a new cell to get the full capacity.
Than decharging it to 3V at the current you want to know the capacity for.
Because on higher discharging currents the capacity is a bit lower you could make different tests on different currents 1A 2A 3A. But that depends on which charger you have the smallest type could just discharge with 1 A maximum.
