How Do You Mount Your Flashlights ?

Every decade or so with flashlight technology getting smaller and brighter wall mounting them in a place where need them most in an emergency or blackout comes into play. Basically there is pretty much nothing on the market for standardized wall mounts for the vast array of shape and sizes for today’s flashlight offerings and must be affordable and can be purchased ubiquitously. So how are you guys mounting them or you don’t mount ?

So I am downsizing from the regular plastic Safety Mounts that came with my old EveryReady D cell flashlights to broom hooks !
I ordered some of these stainless steel broom hooks on the way. I like the fact that there is a rubber backing that you can adjust for the diameter of the torch’s diameter and it won’t scratch the anodizing on the body. These broom hooks normally accommodate up to 1-1/4" diameter which is great for torches like the SK68, 501B, 502B, C8, T6 Convoy etc…

A few of my lights have magnets on them. For the ones that don’t, i have some magnets for the pocket clips. Stud screws, corner bead, anything non-extreme temperature or non-hazard ferrous is a good place to mount a light. My bed frame has steel in it, so i have some lights stuck there.

There are plastic ones that use rubber bands (removed here) to tighten the hold/choke

I remember these style holders being popular years back, seems like they’re less popular now. I’m my opinion they’re too ugly for areas outside of a garage/shed/workshop type area.

My accessible lights around the house stored:
Head/tail standing on a shelf
Magnetic tailcaps on ferrous surfaces
Lanyards on hooks
Headlamp is looped over a bedpost

I’ve never mounted a torch, but do prefer them to be able to tail-stand for just such an eventuality. Although the last couple of power cuts we’ve had during hours of darkness we’ve used candles in the living room.

Most of mine that aren’t in a car or on my bike are scattered throughout the house on shelves or by the bed. But I don’t have the collection you guys do.

I live in a city in North America that is suppose to have the greatest hydro- power infrastructure and yet for the past three years there has been at least 5-6 blackouts that lasted over 6+ hours in the dead of winter or spring, they blame it on climate change ! …LoL

I live on a farm in one of England’s most rural areas and power cuts are pretty rare

I don’t think you see much of winter storms with -20C+ weather where you are.
They even made a proper documentary on the storm of century …LoL

That is one good thing about British weather, it may be changeable and tend towards the damp but it’s rarely extreme. We did have a winter a few years back where it got down to -15 C for a week or so, but that was unusual. We don’t get ice storms here.

Ice storms are really hard in areas that don’t get much snow and have hills like St Louis. They usually just wait until it warms up enough to thaw out.

I use conduit clamps. These are available in all sizes and are around $1. Wald still makes flashlight mounts.
