They wouldn’t do that for me after several attempts. I believe the spending limit was $2K(might have been $5K, I can’t recall this many years down the line). I did get them to renew that once a long time ago but they said they wouldn’t do it again- it was get verified or get lost, so I got lost and they lost lots of money when I did. There’s a way I could set up another unverified account but I’ll just keep my business elsewhere until they get their act together and change their stupid policies.
I am hoping that paypal separating from ebay will, in time, bring other payment options to ebay. Ebay I’m sure is the biggest thing that causes people to sign up for paypal.
The last time I tried to move funds from my verified “paypal only use” bank account into my paypal account the transaction failed because paypal tried to pull funds from an account that was last registered with them 14&1/2 years ago.
I moved all the accounts I had with that old bank 14 years ago to 2 other banks because they simply offered better service and lower service fees way back when.
It’s a mystery to me why they would retain old defunct customer banking data for 14 years.
When I asked for an explanation I just got a canned cut and paste robotic reply back followed by the standard ” how was our customer service” survey.
If you ever see a tv comercial with someone shouting “human” while the recorded customer service bot lists your call directory options that would be me…
Sometimes pressing the “zero” button will take you directly to a human but that old trick doesn’t work as universally as it once did. Sometimes it’s zero pressed twice or three times- as long as it doesn’t dump the call it’s worth trying.
