How much would you pay?

No wonder my postal pick up point (we have no post offices anymore, long story…) is always full of typical Chinese packages.
Only a few ‘real’ stores are competitive with Chinese webshops.

…they sell Olight, Fenix, Jetbeam and whatnot for over double and sometimes triple the price of chinese websites. I see its not an isolated phenomenon :person_facepalming:

Well… it is my impression that this is the case for almost everything… Whatever the chinese sell for $1 you’ll probably pay $2 or $3 in a store near you. Same for clothing, tools… you name it.

Not long ago i had to buy some wall mounted AC plugs - it’s essentially a little plastic box with two holes for the plug. It is made of three plastic pieces that snap together like lego, with two tiny bits of brass for the contacts, not even a screw (the wires get snapped in). Just looking at it you can tell it does not cost more then $1.50 if you buy them bulk (and maybe less), but can you believe they sell for $8?!

I get what your saying, i remember hearing once that for a $3 box of cereal the farmer gets 25 cents for the contents.

The reason I got started on BLF is that I had became aware of how poor my flashlights were and that much better could be easily had. I started on another site where I was advised that the cheapest light worth having would cost me about $40-$50. Had that been true I’d have one or two modern lights now. Since it wasn’t I have more than ten

So yeah, I will pay a high price for a flashlight if I have to but not when it isn’t necessary. And it ain’t necessary at all

Better buy ten light ghts you love and dont need often
than having one crappy light that lets you sit in the dark when you need it

Wow. I get that there is a cost of doing business, but that seems pretty steep.

Well, the 255$ priced headlight is quite tempting. a CPF worthy light!
Maybe a limmited Surefire serioes of some sorf?
