How to frost an LED dome??

Hi guys,

Been a while since I have posted, hope all of you are doing well! I am building a Convoy S2+ with a multi-color XML. I am wondering if there is anyway to frost the dome on the LED to provide more of a uniform beam? I could always just use diffusion film, but that always makes it way more floody…

Focusing the XHP-50 in a convoy L5 (SMO reflector)

I have a convoy L5 modded with a XHP-50, I actually modded this light some time ago. But now I wanted to improve the beam profile, you know getting rid of that ugly dark spot. Btw, optically, diffusing the lens does a bit different thing than diffusing the dome, I suspect, with a diffused dome the different colours still start more or less from a different location which is sort of projected by the reflector in a pattern. A perfect colour mix will not be achieved. With a diffused lens, no optical step takes place after diffusing, the light evenly spreads out and colour mixing will be much more complete.
