In NY we got anywhere from 12-24 inches topped with an inch of ice with heavy wind.
Unno. Drifts in some places, not much in others. Was blowing off roofs and trees confusing the issue even more.
They™ reported 11.4" in Central Park, a record for the day, though.
I was brooming that powder off the patio and front stoop. Leafblower worked okay, but still lifted up a cloud that would settle right back down.
Haven’t been out since late last afternoon, so didn’t experience any sleet/ice yet. Ain’t getting arsed enough to do anything more 'til it’s over.
Didn’t even broom off the cars. Letting the powder be a protective layer. Else freezing rain would just turn them into glazed doughnuts. This way, I’ll just bonk the outer crustular layer, and it’d just peel right off.
9 inches in NW PA
The first 7 or so was like sugar. The last couple of inches was more of the big flakes fluffy stuff.
Suburban tristate northeast, ranged from dust to fluff, with the plows making shaveable clumps. It was weird snow, almost creamy like.
I measured 7" near St. Louis
Did you just lay face down or something? ![]()

My wife may or may not have been involved in the measuring.
Snow was blowing sideways big-time here yesterday. Except for the end of the driveway where the slush the snowplow kicked up was congealing.
Denver… About 3 inches divided over two different storms a day apart.
Very Dry light powder. No problem cleaning the front porch and steps with my leaf blower.
6.5" total depth.
North-central Kentucky / south-central Indiana area on Ohio River.
~1.5" of dense sleet between two layers of snow. My 12A corded electric snow shovel is at capacity struggling with the sleet layer. Tripped the thermal breaker on the motor once in 45 min. of use.. If it was just 6.5" of dry powder it would move much easier.
The dense sleet layer makes it noticeably heavier when shoveling by hand.

But a dusting of actual snow in DFW however there’s a crust of sleet at least 1" thick clinging to the ground that’s compacted into something approaching ice in some spots. Thankfully it didn’t fall as freezing rain so the damage to powerlines and trees was negligible. Got some sunlight-driven melt yesterday - with temps rising to 40F and some sunlight today hopefully the bulk of it will melt and runoff today.
Here on the outskirts of Syracuse, NY we have been getting hammered! over 7" alone on Saturday. By last night I measured in the middle of the backyard and we were at just under 20" total. With a possible 6" more to come tomorrow. We’re used to snow in this area, but this is getting a little ridiculous!
14.5 “
It dumped 11+ in less than 1/2 a day .
Otoh it’s all powder So it’s not bad to shovel
