So I picked up this Husky 165 Lumen LED I took it apart today and noticed the LED was a small cree LED. I replaced it with the Cree LED that came out of my M1 mod, and the light is much brighter. Wondering what drive board I could get that is better then the stock one. The light is nice and heavy and output is ok, but would be nice to drive that LED harder. Other issue is it runs on one of the AAA battery packs. So does anyone have an idea on what driver board to go with?

I have 2 of those and put an XP-L in one. No other changes other than I use an 18500 Lithium Ion to run it.


I used the original driver and as is the XP-L is a lot brighter and a little warmer in color. I like it!

I ordered 2 18500 after WarHawk-AVG told me about them. I am hoping those will drive it just a bit harder. Do you use the Husky for EDC? I like it nice and heavy light.

It’s a little big for me to EDC it. I took the boots off to make it a little smaller. It’s in my pocket now, I’ll carry it tomorrow and see how it goes.
The tail boot is glued, the one around the head came right off.
