I can find ananything on this wall mounted oil lamp. I picked it up years ago at an antique store. Any advise or ways to identify it would be helpful ty
Thats cool looking.
I would not have solid info how to identify it, especially if there is no markings on it.
But there are a few resources buried in the internet to try to find information on old oil lamps. Sometimes if you know an approximate age, you can find scans of old catalogs and might get lucky.
One place I would browse for info is lanternnet.com. They are a retailer that sells oil lamps and lanterns, rather than a reference source, but the information they have written about some of their products might help you get an idea of an approximate era or what companies may have made similar lamps. At a minimum, you will see some other examples of bracket oil lamps there.
Otherwise, doing a web search for “identifying oil lamp” turns up some interesting information, but nothing that seems particularly useful if there are no markings on the wick knob, fuel cap, or the bracket. An image search for “oil lamp bracket” also brings up some interesting results, but nothing quite the same style. I would focus on the bracket and burner. The chimney strikes me as likely a replacement for the original.
