I just finish making a cake, I mean I

just finished potting a 5A-2S3S-DRV from rich's shop. These babies run very very hot. Also my first time to play with 400 grit Fine Silicon Carbide. That and HF Epoxy was my cake batter. I used a big chunk of aluminum, it now has a permanent home right on top of the fet. I'll let this cake cool until tomorrow and give it a test drive.

What are your goals?

Wondering if you had used those finned type aluminium heat sinks (found on electronic PC boards) instead, would the heat dissipate faster?

Doesn't really matter, there is no air flow inside a sealed pill area. This solid gets epoxied to the side of the aluminum inside the pill. Gets the heat to the outside of the flashlight where the airflow, is.

Ok. Looks like the big aluminium is the heat conductor from the FET to the pill.
