Thanks! It wasn’t easy getting that bezel off. Mine had a LOT of glue. I ended up using heat and it melted the edge of the lens. So, I’m going to see if I can get another one from Wurkkos.
I also modded my copper TS10 with some E21A 4000k. They were supposed to be 2700k. But, I was sent the wrong ones. I really wanted a warm light with the copper. Either way, it’s still an improvement over the CSP’s.
so sorry!
hot air? how hot?
aargh!
congrats on all the work
Blowtorch around the head for about 10 seconds.
I’m not too worried about it. I’m sure I can get another from Wurkkos.
Thanks! It turned out to be a productive day with lights!
I have had good luck with This. I have only tried one wrap. Maybe more layers could be better, but at 1/8" (~3.2mm) thick this much thicker and pads things well. I usually put the bezel into my vise with the rubber jaw covers in place. Then use the neoprene strips with the vise grips. I haven’t bent anything…so far. Of course the strips are fully reusable (and leave no residue).
I have also just used the rubber strap from a couple of my strap wrenches and two sets of vice grips. This works just fine but can be unwieldy as you have to figure out how to get the strap wrench handles out of the way. But the concept gave me the idea for getting the neoprene strips.
For clamping a stubborn lamp I measure the diameter of the lamp. Drill the same size hole in a thin wooden board, and slit one side. Put the lamp in the hole and the board in a vice. Attack the other part with a rubber ball to unscrew.
For more force make a second board and clamp this with a e.g. a quick clamp.
Drill the holes with a step drill or cone drill and file bigger if needed.
For heating a lamp, get a boiling water kettle, put the lamp in a plastic bag. Hang the bag in the kettle, remove it when the lamp is medium rare. And try to use gloves.
dealspotting, USA Amazon has the TS10SG in stock, for a lower delivered price than Wurkkos atm
Very interesting technique, thanks : )
I don’t think I will ever mod this light, as I’m a N00b and I don’t have the required technical skills, but I always love to see the mods people do and how they do it.
BTW I just got another TS10 SG. I had been waiting for a good price for the TS10 Max and the SG was like 13 euros getting it from europe. Just the battery would cost about 4, how can I say no to that?
Congrats on your new TS10SG.. great little pocket thrower and great price. I agree the battery makes it an even better deal.
Enjoy! ![]()
btw, Sammy shared some good beam photos in his review
That green really comes out next to the SW45K
yes, I was hoping the SFT25 cool green tint would help show a little pink from the sw45k
I was surprised that at night, the SFT25 green tint is not noticeable.. it has given me a new appreciation of Cool White Low CRI for outdoor use.
