Ideas for Christmas that are neither sharp nor bright......

So,

The Mrs has ordered me to give her an idea about a Christmas gift from her to me. Around £60/$75 max or so (give or take - but we don’t spend a lot on each other)

It can’t be a knife. It can’t be a torch.

Any ideas lads and lasses? Because I haven’t got a clue.

Cheers,

SP

by the way, I’ve been good……

Hosts, LED’s and 18650’s then of course

She doesn’t like flashlights?

On the more serious side - for that kind of money you won’t get a decent brand name handbag, any jewelry relevant for the occasion, or similar. So I’d go for something cool instead. What are her hobbies?
How about a TV box with decent quality? A framed picture in a nice frame?

Other than those two? I’ve got nothing. Sorry, wish I could have helped.

It’s a gift from her to me guys……

ah! I misread it.

Don’t you know what you want? There are tons of things for guys in that range… cuff links, ties, trousers? pocket square (if you like that)? something for your car? What are your interests?

Hmmmm… Based on your other gift-needing thread:

…it seems that you don’t have a lot of hobbies and people USUALLY have a hard time finding something for you…

For that price…
A very budget Android tablet/E-reader?
Something to eat is always nice, maybe a big pack of Ribeye steaks? :stuck_out_tongue:
A nice knife-sharpening system?
Outdoor cooker with some nice cast-iron cookware?
Lego?

Soldering station, hot air rework blower, power supply, clamp meter, quality test probes, light meter.

Programming clip and associated interfaces for reflashing drivers?

I looked at your post history and saw that you did some leather work on your wallet, maybe you want to get some leather working tools or materials and start making holsters?

I like the knife sharpener idea. I am considering asking Santa for a Spyderco Sharpmaker. Other than that, perhaps a watch? You can get a nice Orient, Seiko or Citizen close to that price range, and all are excellent quality watches.

$75.00 max, maybe a evening in the Pub by yourself ???

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I have much of what you’ve mentioned or otherwise they aren’t my cup of tea. I do like the rib eye idea, also the leather tools although my arthritic hands can get pained. As for a weekend by myself? Nah, love my family too much, even though the thought of peace is very appealing……

Cheers for your ideas everyone.

Some things I want…

Review of DP50V5A & DPS3012 bench top power supply modules

More 30Q batteries,

WHITE underware… Excuse ME!

I always need more Denim Jeans, expensive these days. Current Choice is from
All American Clothing
Levis are garbage by comparison.

EDC item lighter, watch, or maybe fancy lanyard. Good Luck

Neither sharp nor bright… How about dull and dim??? :person_facepalming:

How about one of those 18650 power banks for the phones? People like those for emergency backup

Or some flashlight modding tools

How about a budget action cam? Or maybe perfume?

Tools! A drone or RC car

White underwear? Hey - maybe……
Decent jeans? Could be.
Power bank? Nah, got my almost two year old Lumia 735 on original battery and the life is extraordinary. Maybe that’s a Windows Phone thing.
The drone could be a possibility.

So thanks for the suggestions guys, and sorry for the delay in responding, been busy with the wee’n.

Trader Joe’s gift card,
North Face gift card
REI gift card
A new pair of your favorite shoes (again maybe not a $75 thing)
Expensive socks (REI, North Face)
Amazon Gift card (books is what I had in mind)
A trip to the local book store (with her)
Head phones (this opens up a whole new can of worms)(see headfi http://www.head-fi.org/ ) (maybe not really a $75 thing, sorry)

not underwear, its good to be frugal but face it underwear is not a gift any of us would want to give (so lets not do that to others).

Go pick out 1, 2 or 3 bottles of wine with her (for special occasions) but not so special that it does not get consumed (the bane of folks not thinking they don’t deserve to live well during this short life).

Or if you smoke, get a premium cigar?

Or, go to a themepark with her? LOL

Bluetooth speaker?
