Identifying Surefire flashlight

Can anybody tell me which Surefire this is? It has a plastic body and the Surefire logo stands proud of the tube. There is a metal sleeve inside the light. . I am new here so I hope I have posted the link to the photos correctly!

I have had this light a long time and do not know if it is a genuine Surefire or not. Regards, Jim

Surefire G2Z-NRA Official NRA CombatLight Flashlight

Andrew 2007, Thank you for the very fast response. You nailed it almost. Mine does not have an NRA on the body, just Surefire on one side. The other side has a spot where I am sure other labeling could be placed. Since you got it so fast can you tell me what years it was made in and is a rare model? Thanks for your help, Jim

The G2ZX seems to be an LED lite. Mine is quite old and is incandescent. From what I can find it is not a G2, and the G2Z appears to be an >LED. Mine looks exactly like the G2Z but came as incandescent.

Andrew had it correct . It is a Surefire G2Z-NRA Official NRA CombatLight Flashlight

That one would be the updated version I would assume going by the head.

I found it here: http://www.opticsplanet.com/surefire-g2z-nra-official-nra-combatlight-flashlight-black.html

Thanks for the help.

Jimazores@ Can you share your experience about best flashlight surefire g2z combatlight? I heard about it and interest to know further details before placing my order. I read more about surefire here and able to select good one. Although surefire price is higher than other. It is good choice to use surefire as keychain lights.

Please take my comments lightly as I did not even know what it was. I got it years ago as a present from a Kayaking enthusiast who thought they were great. It has been my only small flashlight and the first of the newer generation flashlights ( ie post incandescent Maglites) that I have known. It is , to me, very bright but uses primary batteries which were expensive. I started using rechargeable LiOn, the 3.0 volt type which charge to 3.7 volts and immediately burned out the original 6v bulb which was my mistake. I then found a 7.4 volt bulb on Ebay and it worked fine.

I think it is very high quality and can understand why law enforcement might want to use this on a weapon. To turn it on you screw the tailcap forward. If you then back it off until the light goes out you can then turn it on in a momentary manner by pushing on the rear button. Mine has been used hard but shows no signs of that. The body material is very durable.

For a general purpose flashlight they are a bit pricey. I just bought two Convoy C8 led lights that seem well made, throw a lot of light, and cost about $18 each. But if a life depended on it the Surefire deserves its reputation.

Sorry, I did not read your question correctly. I have no experience with the g2z. I thought you were asking about the light I have.

Oops, my light is the g2z and my comments above are correct. It is too early in the morning here and I have not had my coffee!
