There have been threads debating favourite lights before, but I couldn’t find people settling on a single light for everything they do or have a reasonable chance of doing.
So here is the question:
If you were to have and use only one lamp for the forseeable future (and burn the rest of your collection and never buy a new light again), what would it be?
It would be a convoy t6 sft25r.
Why? It reaches 400+m, can both 14500 and AA, it’s robust and pocketable. In a long term emergency I can find batteries anywhere.
A headlamp of some sort.
Flood and spot options.
If I had to pick just one, this super cheap COB is the best floody I’ve ever seen. $19 from Amazon 6 years ago.
I’m limited to indoor use these days. Add in a second handheld for everything else. A 2x 21700 perhaps.
All the Best, Jeff
I have multiple S2+s, it’s a great performer, has survived all kinds of tasks and abuses I’ve thrown at it without any issues, has good battery life (especially the boost drive versions) and it’s super easy to mod and/or fix if needed.
To pick one, it would have to be a light that I could comfortably carry every day. All four seasons. Not just in a jacket pocket at night.
I don’t like this question but I have considered it and variations of it many times in the past.
I carry two lights on my person every day. They perform very different tasks. The primary light is small but very throwy.
convoy s6 short. 3k
The secondary light is a very floody L type headlight.
Armytek wizard c2 pro nichia. 3k
Of course larger lights are in the house and in the vehicles wherever I go
The armytek C2 Pro nichia would be my final answer.
Handheld or clipped on a belt or various bits of clothing or in the headlight strap. Don’t forget the magnet. I don’t worry about dropping it with a 10 meter drop rating and a 10 meter waterproof rating. It is so versatile. I really like the UI. I don’t think there’s anything that I would change about it.
It can do most of what I need on most days.
It’s not a thrower. If I lived in more wide Open spaces and had to be out in the night more often, then I would have to reconsider.
If I had to pick a jacket pocket only at night light, it would probably be the Convoy m21h.
I’ve only had it a few months and I haven’t used it a lot yet but it’s impressive.
There are some things I need the LEP for. I would survive without it.
