If you could only have 1 flashlight with a maximum of 2 batteries of any kind, what flashlight would you have?
Don’t be afraid to post pictures.
Life would be boring…
Haikelite MT01 with a Nichia 144AM, with its 3x18650 cell pack and a NarsilM boost driver.
That would be absolutely marvelous, and would probably be my only light.
Zebralight SC600 HI
based on lights I own, my D4 219C running Anduril with 18350 and 18650 cells. I EDC with the 18350, but with the 18650 it could also serve as my bike light.
My most versatile EDC, the Sofirn SF36.
^ with spare cell
Imalent DN35/70.
Either Iether. Same torch differing beams.
Covers everything from dim to 2600 Lumins in one small handful.
2 x 26650 Last forever.
Haekelite MT01. 3 x cell Pack.?.
Jaxman X1
(3) D cell Maglite
BLF A6 NW
Has always been my favourite
DQG Tiny 4th. The only 18650 light I would consider for EDC. It’s too large and too heavy for that but passable. Powerful enough. Throwy enough outside, floody enough inside. With the right cell - it has built-in charging.
It is boring. But the only thing it does wrong is switch reliability - and that can be fixed.
Eagletac D25ATi : mechanical tail clicky (no parasitic drain) durability, AA or 14500, good-looking simplicity, lightweight yet packs a punch when needed, came with factory holster.
Edit:…and btw, I also have the Nitecore EA11 (horrendous parasitic drain, a lock-out is required after each use, and in some cases, unscrew the tail-cap just to be sure), Klarus MI7Ti (dangerous protruding side switch that accidentally turned-on inside my holster and nearly burned my leg on a Sanyo 14500), Olight S10 Baton (too short yet fat for my hand) and some other that I have given away.
I would say my current EDC : Eagletac D25A clicky Nichia. AA/14500 compatible, versatile UI, very low Moonlight mode for energy saving and bright enough for everyday tasks on High.
That said, a 18650 based flashlight might be more energy efficient. So maybe an Olight S2R.
Emisar D1
Skilhunt H03
Most versatile EDC, small for a 18650, nice flood beam, added magnet on the clip. I can point it anywhere by laying down.
Long runtime, good low
Max two cells? Emisar D4 Ti 219C. Obviously. :sunglasses:
Yes, with a Nichia E21A emitter quad swap (extreme low Vf for white emitter, can drain a Pana NCR18650B almost fully, and still not losing too much of the maximum output)
My D4 with 3500K R9050 219C leds.
But I would hate to not have all my other lights
