Do you got a motion detected light aray around the house?
When its dark outside and lght inside, your windows act like mirrors for you.
Turn the situation around by having those strong construction type lights flood the area trespassers could be walking with blinding light when they do.
No I don’t, but I do plan on putting up lights in the near future. Anyone have recommendations on LED motion sensor lights? Incan uses too much power and fluorescent really doesn’t work well at all in the cold. I’m not really looking forward to putting up the lights unless I can find something with lower amperage. I HATE crawling under the house with all the scorpions and spiders. I would hope to not have to run another circuit.
Never tried it as I don’t have a house with a crawl space under it but perhaps throwing a couple bug bombs under there first would help kill or chase them out. Or even maybe just a plain smoke bomb (I’ve read they are easy to make). In the wild, smoke would only come from a fire so I would think bugs and animals would run to avoid being roasted. I know wouldn’t want to crawl under with scorpions and spiders either. Even if just reduced their numbers, I’d take it.
Same situation, without the loss of neighbors.
Really sorry to hear about that, I worry enough as it is, without murder happening down the road. But I’m also in the country, with land surrounding us, for the most part. So a good weapon mounted light is very helpful, for critters and criminals if needed. I’ve done extensive research on this subject, and found that Surefire and Elzetta are praised as the “best”. They’re made specifically for weapons, mainly the recoil. They will last a very long time. But they cost alot. Upwards of $300 for some models. Surefire does have a couple models for less than $100, but are not technically “weapon lights”, meaning they don’t have the battery compartment that withstands the recoil. With that said, many many people use them without issue, on different types of guns. Shotguns are a good test on these lights (high recoil), and have seen say that they do great on shotguns/bolt rifles.
Surefire 6px (roughly $80-90)
Surefire G2 (roughly $60-80)
I’ve also seen alot of people say they use Fenix, Thrunite, Olights, etc. I plan on going this route. I need an EDC light and a weapon light, so I got a ThruNite for both till I get a dedicated weapon light.
Oh, and there are many many types of mounting hardware, with a little research you can find one that fits your exact model of gun. Some expensive, some not. We’re not going onto combat (hopefully lol), so the expensive stuff isn’t needed IMO. Hope this helps, and hope you stay safe!
Whats the difference between regular Convoy M1 and the PFlex Pro besides potted driver and bypassed spring? I am leaning towards the Convoy because people have so many good things to say about Simon’s lights. I would like good output with no modes, just on and off. Would it be possible to modify the driver that comes on these lights for that? Would the light be able to handle direct drive driver? I would like output to be comparable to the BLF D80. Which makes me wonder how well a D80 would fare if I potted the driver and screwed the emitter to the shelf if it isn’t like that already. I wonder if the head diameter would be too much.
