Imalent DX80 32000 lumen monster

I couldn’t respond any sooner to your question, actually I was tying while you wrote this.

We should all just keep an open mind. If my light blows up tomorrow, I may change mine.
I followed this thread from the beginning and after the first ones were released and there were problems I waited. But when I saw that they could be fixed, and the how committed Imalent was to this light (They actually created a retail box) I figured all would eventually be worked out.
Then when I saw what the discounted price was for the early adopters, I jumped in as fast as I could.
I most definitely think that will be looked back upon as a missed opportunity by those that waited. I figure that price discount is a result of the initial problems Imalent had with these and once they are proven to be overcome, that discount will no longer be available.

To me, regret is the worst emotion to feel. As an example of regret, I regret missing out on the special price offered to the first people to commit to the BLF GT.
Another light that changes everything

Sorry. It turns out I was too picky on the “flicker” observation. I am so impressed by my 2 Imalent DX80 that I’m buying 2 more.

My reasons not to get DX80 are it is too small for a 300+W light so i worry about long term reliability. Second reason is the way the battery makes connection with the light that will develop contact problem in long term and will cause flickering. Just my personal view on DX80, I am waiting for better choice since i am happy with high output flashlights i have like RC40, SR95SUT, Blackshadow Terminater, just to name a few.

Ow God, I tried to resist but its more strong than me :person_facepalming:

Good point, the first certainlly is a deal breaker for me :+1:

So, like you told you are a fan of this light but something in your text sounds bad like “if not have the ultra power dx80 you are fool”…….

I have much “silly” reasons to not buy this light and the first of then is: “Do not let a chinese manufacturer laugh in your face”. I NEVER order a product which their brand have a “good” history like imalent has! I have respect for myself and respect for my money and for me is exciting enough to send the light to china and pay more than your price to repair and have not garantee if it will become better :person_facepalming:

Its exciting enough for me search in recicle bin parts to make a brand new thing work because the item is less reliable than a charger found in garbage……

I think the “silly” way to see the wolrd is very different for each other but we have to realise which we receive what we ask for. Until we have a market which the costumers have proud to own disposable products, we have manufacturers proud to make then!

For me, its a very boring to see a light like my g30, its a impressive paper wheight and nothing more

I’m happy because your are happy with your dx80, but its very sad to see you telling someone “snob thrower” here because someone dont like this light or not agree with a liar specs of throw…… I remember when I placed the preorder dt70…… Over a kilometer of throw and 16k lumens……I’m proud to canceled that :stuck_out_tongue:

Boy, I hope you or others don’t think that is what my attitude is about this light.

That word “silly” I used seems to rub people the wrong way. A way I did not intend.

I tried to point out that the only reason I bought this light in the first place is because of the many reasons not to buy it! I was silly
In other words, doing just the opposite of what normal logic would demand. I already have all the normal and useful lights I need, what else is there to buy? My interest in flashlights was starting to fade, this light changed that.

Many would say buying this light is foolish, and it probably is. But as long as my light functions well, this fool is having fun with it.

What I am saying is, don’t miss out on that fun due to any of the above mentioned reasons NOT to buy one.

You are not fool to buy a 32k lumens light, I want a light with those especs or way more, but I found you a bit crazy to spend that in imalent

Telling about crazy, imalent drives crazy (frenzy mode) because they crushed my hope and dreams with the dt70… More than two months and when I did read the review in taschenlampe forum………. :weary:

Sorry for the angry comment, but when imalent name comes to me the dark side have no control

I have to say that I am a fan of this light, after getting a new power supply to charge it :rage: :frowning: it has the wow factor I was looking for.
I am in the military and brought the DX80 2nd gen in to work and showed it to some pilot friends of mine and everyone wanted one.
The most common question I got when showing this to my ordinary coworkers was: what do you need that for and I responded that I didn’t need it but it was sure cool! So I guess it comes down to personalities, those that like cool stuff buy it for the wow factor and the pleasure they get when using something out of the ordinary.
I hope it last a long time, I don’t buy lottery scratchers, my vices are tools and cool stuff. I can spend a lot of money in those two categories and do but it brings me pleasure that work alone can’t.

Well said!
Life is all about doing things that one likes and loves.
And therefore certainly not all choices we take, make sense or are reasonable!

As always, it’s all about the right balance.

s.: since yesterday, my DX80 also is on it’s way to me now

How is the tint? 6500k seems pretty cool.

Tint is a very pleasing hi cri Cool White. 32,000 Lumen mode doesn’t cause any discomfort. This is the Ultimate LED handheld torch.

After nearly 3 mths of waiting with a pre order with gearbest then swapped to banggood also, my DX80 finally arrived today and hopefully have my other DX80 next week. Test it and is definitely just over 32000 lumens when switching on and a throwing distance around 725 meters ANSI.

I think the tint is around 5300k but you would need a professional to say exactly. Probably just above neutral white. Very nice. I hate anything above 6000k.

I dont know how any ` Flashaholic` could resist buying the DX80.
With all its presumed faults and problems ,
Its still 32,000 Lumen in the palm of your hand .
Only a few years ago there was nothing like it , There was some really powerful flashlight at the time used by Gi Joe types and it was in the ` Thousands of dollars `and a HID…
I started out with the `Wicked Lasers Torch HID` 4000 Lumen for about 3-4 minutes, 2010 / US$250 and talk about strange batteries and chargers.

I can see there is a lot that can go wrong with this flashlight with so much power in such a small package.
It does get ` VERY` hot fairly quickly on Turbo and mine gets ` Too hot to touch ` well before it steps down, but not around the handle .
The display while charging is a little strange in my DX80`s but other wise a good switch and display, , the wire screw lock cable is a joke but no big deal.
A flashlight of this price and size should come in a Aluminum case, it is a little heavy but this is to be expected .
I dont like the charger especially as in Australia we have to use the adapter supplied for the US plug.
Never really liked flashlights with built in batteries or chargers with adapters for US/EU plugs.

But all in all…
A `GREAT ` flashlight. especially for the price.
32,000 Lumen !!! in the palm of your hand
For the price I could not resist the DX80 even if it breaks down over time , I love it and had to have it.
Everybody into boating / camping / hunting That I have shown has wanted to purchased one immediately.
Much better then a Ebay HID.
I would recommend the flashlight especially at the discount price.

Is the percentage of faulty DX80`s known ??

Is there a stronger flashlight out there ??

I think most flashaholics are waiting for other companies to offer the same power light. Imalent is the first, but there will surely be others soon.

With 8 pcs of XHP70.2 , and 8 pcs of 30Q batteries included for 216$ I doubt anyone from serious manufacturer will be able to beat that any time soon…

I mean houpe you are right, I am broke and can’t afford it even at this price, but would definitely buy one if I could

Only Acebeam has the X70 planned before Christmas with 40000 lumens and much higher price tag. I don’t know when or if we’ll see other lights comparable to the DX80 in the very near future.

Start a poll.

Is there a banggood coupon then to bring it to 216 like the gearbest code does?

Only $219. Code “1bcb33”.

Are those LED XHP70.2? Thought they are XHP70?
