I’ve been a faithful Android user for about 15 years.
A few months ago the company I work for switched to iPhone.
I’m really missing the Clipboard feature that’s built into Android.
I’ve tried several “clipboard” type apps and none come close to Androids built in clipboard.
Started with Android. After a couple years got a good ‘friend buy’ for an iPhone that was significantly superior. iPhone does some things really well. The benefits of the ecosystem are sometimes seriously hampered by the shortcomings. Mostly good. Occasionally VERY frustrating. Getting non-iPhone data and apps into it is challenging to impossible.
Here’s an interesting work-around:
Of course there are reviews. I have no personal experience with any of them. I looked because you post got me interested. The clipboard function on the iphone sux, much like the native clipboard on Windows.
This workaround creates more work for me.
I mostly use the clipboard to copy and paste part/item numbers for work.
I created a .pdf of frequently used items/parts and switching back and forth between apps is what I’m trying to avoid.
I’ve tried most of these and I’m currently using #6 “clipboard”.
Because the clipboard apps are basically keyboard replacement apps they require you to switch back and forth between your keyboard app(I’m currently using Gboard) and the clipboard keyboard.
This would be better than switching between apps, however the problem I’m having is the item that you’ve copied doesn’t register to the clipboard app until you open it.
So you can’t copy multiple items and then open the clipboard keyboard app.
You have to switch back and forth for each item you copy.
I hope this makes sense.
There maybe a security setting that causes this phenomenon but I haven’t found it yet.
This is the one that drives me up the wall. File management is so restricted. I actually use FTP to put my music collection into the Foobar app. On Android, I could just drag and drop into the file system.
