If you ride at night, you can never have too many lights! I like your “bright” ideas.
Thanks Boro but truth be told there’s nothing here that’s my original idea.

A word I understand. :+1:
Watch out for can. It looks like hes about to run out in front of you.
I’m reassured, a while ago we saw a kickstarter (I think) with a similar kit for maybe 100$ !
Do you have some picture of the LED combo ?
nice setup, a tron bike
Just what I need.
I’m ashamed to admit I did buy that. A few years ago I had the idea to make the wheels glow and I was looking around the net for ideas on how to go about it. I came across nori lights and figured it’s pricey but it’ll save me the headache. After months of emailing Chris (nori lights) I gave up expecting him to deliver what I paid for. I bad mouthed him on a few forums and forgot about it. 18 months after ordering I got an email from a rep he employed. It was a generic email that offered unsatisfied customers version 2. So there was plenty of people by the sound of it. A month later I received these lights with uv leds and the glow tape.
I put it on the bike I had. Soon after I was going to sell the bike but dad said he’ll take it (he paid for it in the first place anyway). So for my new bike there was no need for the expense or waste of time, I knew how to do it.
Thanks mate
Nori lights, yeah I remember that.
Well, the emergency solution is not that bad but clearly the initial price was insulting for what you get…
Anyway, it seems to glow at least

I purchased one of these a couple years ago and it is pretty nice. The beam coming out is even and flat on the top. It seems like it has been discontinued, but you may be able to find one for sale somewhere online.
Edit: just came across someone mentioning that this light is also offered through another company. They didn’t mention the name though.
I have no experience with the Philips SafeRide bike light, but like the concept. It has 2 emitters that point down into a special reflector that is flat on one side and then like a normal reflector on the other half. Not a budget light by my standards. There is a mod thread on MTBR. Here is a pic and link to it. The light appears to be upsided down in the below pic.
“Honestly the beam pattern on the fenix doesn’t look that impressive on the pc. It just looks like one led is facing down while the other is up”.
That is not how the beam works on the BC30r, both leds are centered in the same position. The optics are designed to horizontally cut off part of the top of the spill and point it downwards to reduce glare in oncoming drivers eyes . It does a reasonable job of this whilst putting out a very wide floody beam with some throw, it’s a very good beam profile and functions as a great bar flooder for mountain biking also.
I’ve got the BC30 (same optics) and it’s been my go to bike light for over a year for both mountain biking and roadbiking.
That’s cool! Thanks for the link.
