Is there a program/app to fully customize outcome of a flashlight by/for amateurs?

I know it may sound naive but I hope that one day anyone (with no knowledge how flashlights work) would be able to install a program on their PC or app on smartphone, connect it and a flashlight by USB cable and set the modes in it by choosing % of outcome whatever they wish.

i.e.: 1% - 5% - 20% - 50% - 100%
or 0.5% - 5% - 25% for longer run on battery/batteries.

Then after a while if someone would like to change levels of outcome it could be done same way again by setting levels in the program run on PC or smartphone app.

And I mean program/app for totally amateurish users. Just typing numbers (of %) in provided fields.

Or maybe I just don’t know that something like this already exist?

Check out Nextorch. Almost their entire product line has this feature. (They have a patent on USB light programming or something?)

Nextorch isn’t particularly budget but they are cheaper than the alternatives who use Bluetooth or optical configuration.

Could you list a light which uses this (or atleast the maker if custom only)?

That’s what I was thinking about! Thx Parametrek

I don’t understand the USB programming patent. What is covered by patent? USB connection to send settings?
I’m not an IT person but is it that hard to create this kind of software and make a flashlight ready to support this feature?

rost333, patents aren’t for protecting hard ideas. They are for protecting easy ideas. If it was hard it would be kept a trade secret.
