Is this possible for current clicky drivers?

Hi,
Firstly let me say that I know NOTHING about coding drivers. This doesn’t stop me thinking though. I’ve seen a few e.switch drivers that offer ramping light output and some clicky drivers (like in the thorfire C8s) that accept a double tap short cut, so why can’t the two be combined? My idea is as follows

Click on - comes on in moonlight
Quick half press - starts ramping up in, lets say 20, visually linear steps (half press stops ramping)
Double half press - light starts ramping down (half press stops ramping)
Triple half press - short cut to/cycle through hidden modes (turbo-strobe etc) and then back to last selected brightness.

Would this be possible?

TK released some firmware recently that allows ramping in a clicky driver. It was called crescendo or something like that, I have not messed with it yet myself.

The new OTSM drivers that should start rolling out soon would make this even better.

You are in luck. This is nearly exactly what Toykeeper’s Crescendo FW does. It works really well and is now my go-to clicky FW.

You would need to learn to flash FW to driver MCUs, though, as this FW is not preloaded on any drivers you can buy. There are good tutorials on this subject here. I can help direct you if you’re interested.

Yes please that would be freakin amazing!!! Although will it work on a zener modded mtn 17DD?

Yes, it will work on Zener modded drivers.

These are the threads I used to learn to flash FW:
Guide: how to flash ATtiny13a based drivers (NANJG, QLITE, etc.) with custom firmware
howto: Use Atmel AVR Studio 5 to make a .hex file
Flashlight Firmware Repository

Crescendo is currently located here: ~toykeeper/flashlight-firmware/sandbox : files for revision 185

Looks like I’m going to have to get myself a laptop and gear to do driver flashing. Until then anyone in the uk able and willing to reflash a driver for me?

Just found out that Mountain Electronics is offering Toykeeper’s Crescendo firmware on their FET + 7135 Drivers
Scroll down about half way on the page and you’ll find this,

From what I’ve seen it’s available on all sizes of the MTN DD drivers.
