Hello all,

I would say I am a noob when it comes to batteries but I have a Q8 Max charger.

Is there a way to put together a 8 bay charging system with this charger just by using the balance leads? I have never tried to use the charger without a discharge lead but I am betting it won’t work without that plugged in.

I am trying to create a charger that can charge my 18650s, nimh aas and balance my Milwaukee M18 battery packs. Those things are always WAY out of balance.

I had a VacCell S4 plus but blew the thing up by accidentally hitting it with 18v on the output when trying to balance the Milwaukee batteries.

I use mine in several ways like you’re talking about — I have one four bay set up in parallel and I use just the first 2 wires of the balance lead

Then I have 6 four bay holders soldered together to make a 3S8P battery pack —- I use it mostly to storage charge 12 cells at a time ( i test and recycle a lot of cells )
