Its too funny ! Oh dear ! they really dont like competition ...

I regularly trash Fenix, Zebralight, Nitecore, etc... all lights that were at least ONE time well respected at CPF and have never gotten the ban hammer... Honestly, I like the way both forums are run. BLF is more casual and CPF is geared more towards being a serious repository of flashlight knowledge. I know there's a lot of hate for CPF here, but it's not a bad forum - it's just run differently... I support inexpensive lights on CPF if I like them and I mostly get ignored, but I still try to open peoples' eyes that they don't always have to spend $200 to get a decent flashlight. True, I prefer a US made light with a good warranty, but to get the output that I'm getting out of my $57 Sky Ray 818 from such a light, I'd have to pay $600 or something ridiculous - which I refuse to do.

I see more people getting banned from CPF by Greta for being sexist and crude than I have people getting banned just for championing a budget light...

A serious repository of information would insure that it doesn't lose months and months of data. BTW, I take that as an insult to BLF.

CPF is a business. Businesses exist to make money.

And there is nothing wrong with that. But you can run a business and make money and still treat folks with a little more respect. Especially noobies who don’t even see it coming…

I didn’t say there was, but people need to realize what motivates decisions/rules. I like forums run by a fellow hobbyist, not someone whose primary concern is the $$$.

I agree that some of the things people don't like about CPF (moving posts, removing off-topic comments, strictly enforcing rules) are done because it is a larger site and that in itself presents a lot of challenges for people who are running it. I'm always glad to have someone here who can appreciate flashlights for how they perform and not just which company builds them.

Nothing beats smart ass baiting. (Where's that pic...)

Here's your smart arse (sorry can't bring my self to say ass) sorry out of bait.

All the chat about CPF piqued my interest, looks like I've got a lot of reading to do, haven't joined up yet.

How about a lot more respect? I love the education and information I've gotten, but they need to clean house administratively.
