Jade Identification Light Tri-Color 3 emitter tube light. Potential Mods?

Have seen these on Ali for a while now and think there is potential to make something cool. Or use as-is.

Also seen some 2 emitter versions.

I came across these looking for a nice Stainless light to mod.
I have wasted money on worse things but wondering if anyone has torn apart on of these for modification?
I think they are cool.
Olny posted 2 examples but there are more variations.

That light has the same build as the double uv group buy light that I hosted last year (and had an unhappy end) (gb=closed) Only 50 lights were delivered and sent out, *BLF special* Romisen 365/400nm 2xUV SSflashlight, gb with Tinywind . Here’s a teardown of the light, on top of the SS that prevents spreading of the heat, the heat path from pill to shell is also bad NEW TrustFire TR-DF010 CREE XHP70 2 Models 1600LM Diving Flashlight $69.29 Shipped - #253 by djozz . Despite that, the light gets away with 1.5A to the led, for about 250 lumen for a XP-G2. But I doubt you can hotrod this light.

yeah it’s got issues I see. Thanks for the links.

I just want that reflector and MCPCB.
Did find an aluminum version in 3 emitter. for about $10
Portable CREE Q5 White Light LED Flashlight Torch Yellow Light Jewelry Jade Gems Detector Urine 365-395NM Money UV Penlight

Good find, ordered! The aluminium is an improvement, the heat issues could be solved by improving pill to shell contact, and the driver may be tweaked for a bit more current (i.e. 2.5A). I like the 3 emitter toggle UI, I’m not sure which emitter combi to use yet…

Welcome.
Never looked in to UV but what are the purpose or difference in the 365NM or 395NM
I’ll search it and start learnin.

Yes, there’s quite a few threads about uv leds and lights, and I’m guilty of some of them.

UV flashlights have a very useful purpose in forensics, both 365nm and 400nm ones. For the rest, you can check money (low power is enough for that), check how dirty your kitchen is, or where your pets have been, or to light up scorpions (we don’t have them here btw).

For me it is just a fun diversion from normal flashlights.

Been reading and you are involved in most of what I read so far. Thanks for that…
Leaning on 365NM version.

Mind that these chinese 365nm leds have a fair amount of white-ish light as a by-product. This masks fluorescence caused by the UV and makes it less useful. Since some time there are cheap filters for sale (ZWB2 filters), that filter out all visible light and just transmit the 365nm, but in this triple light you can not use it because the filter would also cover the two other leds which will become useless then.

I built one a few days ago…used a 365nm Lite-On UV led. The tests that djozz ran showed it to be one of the better UV leds. She puts out a lot of light.
