Finally received my M1. Bought it just out of curiosity. Having general positive experience with Jaxman I was very curious about this light. Didn’t expect such innovative solution: external power source via USB, but let’s take a look.
Unboxing: modest (bulk) packaging but the product feels to be of right quality. Nice ano, good machining, AR coat on lens and well fitted parts. OK - no doubt I’m dealing with genuine Jaxman.
The construction is really simple. Just a host, lens, ref, driver, o-ring and that’s about to be it. The driver is connected (no surprises) with the led with 2 wires and another 2 go to USB. Didn’t take off the whole light since puling out the USB cable would require messing with the headband adapter attached to the body. The screw I assume is under the soft pad which I don’t want to unglue.
Anyway, the driver’s diameter is 22mm - no doubt about it.
I did just an amateur reading of lux this light produces I would be happy to take a lesson on how to convert it to Candelas and then finally to throw.
After 30 sec. my toy-luxmeter read 479 lux from 5 meters. I used XTAR PB2 powerbank and VTC5 cells freshly charged.
The first problem I saw is its cooperation with Xtar powerbank. The powerbank is on automaticly after plugging in but if not used the device goes off. When off, the light deos not light up. So when you turn off the headlight for more than a minute you need to plug the light again to wake up the powerbank. Oooops, that sucks!
Here are some pictures. If questions: I’ll be happy to answer. Those I cannot answer I’d happy to hear as well
I’m going to take out for an evening walk this light so some more pictures may yet arrive.
This is what you get:
The body, not good picture but it looks great:
Warm XHP50.2
