Could you bypass the driver & go direct drive with a lithium cell, or stack a few button cells along with a spacer?
I have no 10440 or button cells…
I have another simple small driver, but it will have to be rebuilt to fit or something…

This is the first ‘serious’ project ever since, that got this close to finishing…
The driver apparently was a little too iffy to start with. I don’t know…
But as i’m off to France tuesday, i also have to prepare for that.
Well friend, in time or not, you should be extremely proud of what you have accomplished. It's a fine machine and I really look forward to seeing and hearing about the finished piece.
One thing for sure, if it isn't finished by the deadline, it will not be for lack to trying. Fantastic effort.

I made a driver ! :party:
Took an MXDL driver apart (three legged 2108, diode, capacitor, coil) and built it on the bottom of the switch.
But it took me so darnest long… :weary:
Hours… My eyes are tired…
It’s so damn small !

I just saw we still have 17½ hours to go, so i can sleep AND finish it !
That is, fully functional but not anodized, which was the plan…
It will probably not be waterproof either.
No more time for the finishing touches.

I'm catching up on the contest threads, and just now read through your build thread of this very little, very nice flashlight, with many creative solutions for problems, it is one of my favourite form factors, and congratulations on making the deadline after so much hard work and so many setbacks. Hope you will take the time to do the anodising even though it will be past the deadline.
