The plan is to ultimately anodize the tube black (dyed) and the head silver (not dyed).
I only used the solder thus far to join the two parts of the bezel.
Maybe i should boil it in soapy water to neutralize any acid that’s left?
I haven't heard of that before. Everything I've read is scrubbing with a brush and dishwashing detergent, rinse and do this about ten times. If boiling worked it would be a lot quicker.
I read that dropping a brazed part in boiling water helps loosen the flux. It seems to work as the flux becomes powdery and is easily removed. After that it gets soaked in a soda solution. Alu uses different flux and wire but I think both are acidic where electrical flux is not. Please let us know how it ages.

Tiny IC with a broken leg and the coil just fell off…

I need to get some reading glasses soon…
This driver though, DOES fit in the mini pill…

There’s a “2R0” resistor in series with the LED.
Can this be replaced by a lower R?
Or would that be too heavy for the little thing?

Just glued the TIR in the bezel with superglue, and the vapor tries to ruin the surface of the PMMA… 
May have to do that over… 
I’m isolating the ‘wall’ of the inner pill now with liquid enamel.
Hope i can wait long enough to harden

I like this tiny build.
I say don’t get hung up on waterproofing everything, unless you have the time. Function first, my build is dustproof at best. If the current is less than 1amp, 26 ga. wire should be sufficient, if that helps. I kind of liked the metal button cap.
