Do any of you know if the Lumencraft 2000 or 3500 lumen dropins will fit My new to me c cell mag light with the adapter that they sell? If not what are some options please.
TIA
Chris
Can’t tell you about the value, but those are very very rare. If in a decent condition I would not do it if it involves irreversable modifications. But that’s just me. TV-shows like Vintage Voltage where people pay a fortune to a man named Moggy to turn their garage gold into a glorified golfcart give me the creeps. Rant over.
That 7C is extremely rare. Probably good idea to use mods that don’t require permanent changes.
Yes I do want a reversible mod.
I’m not sure, I think 7C’s are very old models. Maybe ask directly from seller? He’s also a member here I think, but I don’t know how frequently he logs in.
They are pretty old, most likely still wide tube, which means next to impossible to find a spare switch. There are not many drop ins for C mag, most high power modules will not fit a C head, there are pr drop ins, but none will be in the lumen range OP is looking for.
I’d get FM pr to 5.3 bipin adapter, and use a long life halogen 50 Watts mr 16 bulb, you need to run it off 5 Li ion cells to get most out of it. You may need a borosilicate glass, some mr 16s come with glass, some without,
BLF forum member @Lumencraft-Matt is the owner of lumencraft.com. Hopefully he will chime in.
Just tried to message him it wouldn’t go
Are you the person who bought that 7C mag on eBay on the 22nd march?
Went for best offer, so no idea what that is, but asking price was $325…
There’s a 6C recently finished in the UK that went for £80 ($90?).
Yes that was me, my offer was a little high so I imagine that they jumped on it. It was less than the asking price.
They charged my card about three hours after my offer. it has a good bulb in it and no corrosion inside that I could see. It is shorter than my 6 D. ![]()

Haha I understand, enjoy your new to you light, hopefully someone can hook you up with a nice LED module.
First off let me say congrats on a rare score. As far as what you will be able to get for upgrades, I don’t think my 3500 lumen will fit that light. I have an older C mag that says “patent pending” on it, that will not allow the dropin to sit down in the head all the way. There is a shelf that chokes off the the lower part of the head just above the threads.
You might be able to use the 325 lumen bulb I have, as long as you put one dummy C cell in the body so you don’t exceed the max voltage.
Mine says patented made in usa what is the difference between the one your part fits and the other? Is it just the opening in the head which is around "1.077to the batt tube? My shelf is .92 in below the rim of the head. I have one that says patented in usa with a"1.20 opening which is you c adapter for please? and thank you for responding to my post. I will switch lower heads in a heart beat I want a bright 7 C mag light. And yes to the dummy cell ![]()
TIA
Chris
