Just Confirmed That My Vinhnguyen54 TN31 Throws Easily 1/2 Mile Down The Highway

I just got back from buying a soda and some jerky. Took my Vinh de-domed XM-L2 TN31 with me. On the way back, I stopped on the top of the hill before my sudivision turnoff and pulled over on the side of the road and turned my lights off. I shined the Vinh TN31 north up the highway to the next hill and over that hill and to the next one and picked a spot on the highway that I could see the beam easily and marked it off on my odometer at 1/2 mile and just a little over. That’s over 880yds and that just seem like a warmup. There’s no telling how far this beam will actually go to where your eyes can actually make out the beam. I would like to get in a darker spot and stretch it out to 3/4 of a mile if I could find the spot to do so. I think you could still see the beam in the right place. Just thought I would let you guys know. This light just keeps on impressing me.

Its just good to see you around ILF.

Yeah no doubt 1/2 mile should be easy enough for that light. Several months back I took my TN31mb out to a national park. Tried it out at well over 900m, took beamshots of it too. You could see it light up a mountain side. And our TN31vn (that’s what Vinh calls his lights now) is even more powerful than the mb’s. These are impressive lights for sure.

Yea I took my BTU Shocker out the other night and it seems weak in comparison to the Vinh TN31. This flashlight spoils a person for sure.

So is the Shocker going on the auction block?

No.

The Shocker eventually will get modded.

Cool that’s what I should have done with mine before I sold it. Although now I don’t think I will be buying a Shocker again unless a used one comes up for sale really cheap.

What are you waiting for? Get that big boy fixed up…

He needs to sell it to me cheap so he has the money to fix it up. Oh wait something is not quite right about that logic. :~

I stopped up on the other hill before going to my house and shined the TN31 on the white barn that’s like 630yds away and it lit it up no problem. But taking a photo over there would be difficult w/o pissing somebody off.

Like I said I need to get somewhere around 3/4 of a mile and see what it will do on my camera. I know a place I can go, but it miles from my house.
