Just received a new Convoy S21E, a few issues

I’ve decided to slowly upgrade my collection to post covid technology so ordered the S21E XHP-50 R9050 (and an L21B), and have noticed a few issues i am hoping BLF can answer. First is how do i remove the clip without scratching the light, normally i can slip some plastic behind it and slide it off but this time its way too tight. Any tips? Also its scratching the tailcap due to lack of clearance.

Second, the USB C port is misaligned, if i unscrew the driver retaining ring, will i be able to correct that?

Finally there is a piece of stringy plastic lint on the emitter, but i have not yet been able to get the bezel unscrewed, hopefully i will have more luck on that tomorrow.

Edit: got it open and blew it out, glad it was not inside the flat XHP50 dome.
Also: dual o-rings in the bezel, i’m living large!

Bump

No clue about the clip thing, mine came without. Driver issue should be fixable by loosening the ring, aligning the driver and tightening it again.

Lucky!

I was hoping so, i don’t have very fine snap ring pliers that will fit the divets in the retaining ring but if realigning is all it needs i shall try to find something that will get it loose.

I normally drive 2 nails through a piece of wood in place of snap ring pliers that I’m too cheap to buy

Interesting idea!

The nails don’t even have to be the precise distance between the retaining ring holes since you can bend the nails with pliers to adjust them.

Got the clip off, i had to use some heavy duty plastic to get under the clip and shave the edges finer to get it to slip in. Also jabbed myself a few times with it. Some black paint is left behind on the grey flashlight body, might hit it with a magic eraser sometime.

The threads also desperately needed lubrication so took care of that. Lots of fine aluminum shavings were present that i also cleaned up.

I have not attacked the USB C misalignment yet.
