Right, it signifies when you move out of the regulated section. What does it mean on a boost driver which has no FET?
Linear driver has regulation for whole range also, except turbo. I didn’t mean 7135+fet driver.
Man, I had such a hard time letting my D1 go last year. I’d love to see an updated version. I’ve been asking for a D4 sized single emitter light for years.
D1 if offered with a boost driver, 519A 4000-4500k in green is on my list. Hopefully Hank brings back the original Emisar green.
On another note, I have a boost driver D4 with a lighted switch. I noticed that when ramping the switch brightness goes from low to high. In Anduril that used to correspond to cutover points from regulation to FET, but what does it mean on a boost driver?
A single 519A would not work with a boost driver. B35AM would be a good alternative with similar color properties if you want a boost driver.
That switch LED brightness change happens regardless of the driver type. On fully regulated drivers it does not mean anything.
@nick779, no dice for the boost driver: you’d need a 6/12V LED in such a form factor.
Ah, rats, maybe I was thinking of a buck/boost like what Skilhunt or Zebralight does? Or are they just CC like Hanks newer non 7135 based drivers? I sort of lost track of driver understanding when the newer regulated drivers came out.
B35AM would be cool, or XHP35/50/70.
The current 3V drivers are linear+FET , but with discrete component instead of 7135 chips, higher regulated current and no PWM, and boost : 2A12V for most configurations and 3.6A6V for B35AM.
Zebralight used to have buck-boost drivers but now they use buck for 3V LEDs.
I would love to see the Emisar green come back for the new D1, also!
Hank, any updates on D1v2?
More info about & a pic of D1V2 from Jackson Lee. Looks absolutely gorgeous.
Hank, will these be called “New D1” or “D1V2”?
(same pic id30209 posted a link to, just embedded this time for easy viewing)
No SST-20 for high CRI high throw

What is this I hear, you are bringing back the EMISAR D1?!
or just a new 18650 side switch thrower?!
please share?
I am VERY excited about this. Some Reddit users and I have some questions if you don’t mind, Hank.
Will it come with the new body tube & magnetic tailcap available on D4V2, DT8, and DW4?
Will the head be the exact same design or will it be changed?
Will it have all the same emitter options as KR1?
Will it have a lighted switch option? If so, will it be standard or only via email request?
Yes, the body tube and magnetic tailcap are the same as D4V2, DW4.
The design has changed a bit, including the threaded retaining ring just like DW4.
Yes. it will have the same emitter options as KR1.
The lighted switch options are standard, alone with the SS bezel.
Hank, will the the D1v2 be available in gtfc40?
The D1v2 looks great! However, it seems like a missed opportunity not to have an RGB switch like the K1. With a reflector and no AUX, it would be nice to have the switch represent the voltage/temp/etc., and I think the driver should have the extra pins to allow for that. Although not sure how hard it would be to wire in the small host… Maybe something for a D1v3
No SST-20 for high CRI high throw
I’m assuming those emitters listed are just what Jackson is stocking. I’m sure Hank will offer all his normal options on his own website.

I agree that an RGB switch would have been a nice feature. It’s possible K1’s larger RGB switch simply does not fit.
d4v2 519a boost
from lockout mode: 1H is momentary moonlight, and 2H is momentary low
i've seen this alternately described as:
- 1H: Light up at the lowest floor level.
2H: Light up at the highest floor level.
(or the manual mem level, if there is one)
however, 1H and 2H from lockout look the same to me.
what's the difference between lowest floor and highest floor? i didn't know there were different floors (or ceils).
presumably i can make 2H brighter than 1H. how?

It refers to the floor level of the smooth ramping mode vs the stepped ramping mode. So while in the smooth ramping mode, you can set the floor to level one, and the change to stepped ramping (3C from on) and set the floor to 20.
Then in lockout, 1H is level 1, and 2H is level 20
Alternatively, you can set either floor to level 1 or whatever (1H will always take the lowest of the two values) then set a level to manual memory with 10C from on. lockout 2H will then be this memorized level.
@Hank
Will there be a D1 TiCu run?
thank you, LuxWad.
Which emitter are you buying for the D1?
