Hi Ban,
I really like the UltraTac S20, but I need to know one thing: it has mode memory but is there a way to go to the lowest mode directly from ‘off’ ? (So without going to the memorised mode first).
Mmm, feeling a bit uneasy right now, set a small Kaidomain order on Mar 18th with registered mail as a plus in hopes for it to reach home a bit sooner, but absolutely no news yet despite having sent email to sales@kaidomain.com and a private message to BanL. Requested cancellation for it to be added to a larger order since I now need some high voltage laptop batteries, but…
By taking out resistor R120, it reduces the output current to 3A Max.
Leaving the resistor in the output current is as specified at 4.5-5A Max.
Cree specs:
XHP50.2…3A Max
XHP70.2…4.8A Max
As far as I know you can over drive an XHP50.2 beyond the Cree specs at 4.5-5A, it will be brighter but be aware it will create more emitter heat.
There dosen’t appear to be a spring with it which is unusual, and no specs on the base diameter of the spring if it’s not included, hopefully BanL will chime in here and tell us the answer on that. You could also try message them through their site.
Anyone push XHP50.2 to 5A is it too much for L2 ?
Right now I used Sofirn C8A/T driver +XPL HI in 1S and got something like 130L/180KCD but consider to change
-FX6+XHP50.2 2S at 5A or may be
-H2C+XHP35 with resistor mod to 2-2.5A
Any suggestion ?
XHP50.2 is a sensitive led, so it appears in use. On a DTP board it can easily take 5A and quite a bit more too, but with certain drivers they die anyway at much lower currents.
I had a XHP50.2 die with the H1-A driver from Kaidomain. I have no idea about electronics, but it may be voltage spikes? If it is something in the boost circuit of the H1-A you may be fine with the FX6 because it is not a boost driver.
