Thanks Jos, I have what is essentially this light in the 26650 size and branded as Old-Lumens Special Edition. I’ like to put the XHP-50.2 in it with a boost driver and run an auction style giveaway with proceeds going to Mrs. O-L. Can you link the driver for me so I can be sure to acqure the correct one?
This light was in the kit I bought from Justin before he passed away.
I’ll get a pic of it and better description whe the wife wakes up later…

Has anyone modded a H1-A boost driver?

I recently built a p60 dropin with the Kaidomain H1-A boost driver (What did you mod today? - #2814 by vinte77) and I wanted to see if anyone had any mods that they’ve done to the driver. The driver has 5 modes: LL-L-M-H and double click for strobe. Additionally, here’s a several things I’ve noticed about the driver : 1) there’s a pre-flash when you go to the lowest mode, LL; 2) there is next mode memory; and 3) on my build a tail light switch does not affect the driver modes (without adding a b…

An Old-Lumens Ltd. Edition F-13, I am sure it will raise a good price at the auction, not many of those were made , only the one prototype maybe ?

I found the thread of Justin’s and see that it was shut down by his request, at one point in that thread he stated that kronological was taking over the group buy for him. Then it’s not clear whether any lights were sent out or not. It may well be that only the 2 lights Justin handed me directly were ever made. If that is the case, perhaps I should not put the XHP-50.2 in one but instead leave them as Justin designed?

I have two, one with the A6 driver as intended (and a black boot in the tail) and the other with Bistro and a lighted tail cap.

Tom E and djozz were supposed to be sent samples for review but I do not know if that happened. If not, these may well be the only 2.

No, a review sample for the OL F13 was never send out to me. Those are pretty unique!

I agree that the HA1 driver and a XHP50.2 led suit this host well, they would have been a good choice for the special edition if they had been available at the time.

Is it possible to get it with one mode only and with a forward tail switch?
I’ve got the C8.2 and KF5. I only use it on turbo. Pointless for me having all the other modes

I don’t think you can order them that way If you can’t order them that way then with some minor surgery on the driver I’ll feel confident that you could turn it into a max mode only. It would involve cutting a pin on the PIC micro controller and then wiring the pad (or somewhere else along its trace) to Vcc — check with at least one other person to make sure that makes sense. The inductor needs to be moved out of the way of the PIC.

Does tail of light use same thread as body? I’m thinking about using it as bike/helmet light without middle (battery) part and add 3d printed part with different switch and cable output to use external battery pack.
Only drawback is that current version uses only 5% low mode, about 130lm and secondary low has 35% so it’s about 900, bit too much for a bike, 600 would be optimal.
